Bangladeshi Student Organization: First General Body Meeting
7:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
Bangladeshi Student Organization at VCU holds its first general body meeting of the semester in the Academic Learning Commons, Room 1102. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet the e-board and chair members, as well as learn more about upcoming events, Bengali culture and how to spread awareness of the country throughout the community. 'What is Open Science and Why is it Important?'

The Wright Center for Clinical and Translational Research and Tompkins-McCaw Library have rescheduled their lunch research seminar, "What is Open Science and Why is it Important," for Wednesday, Jan. 24, from noon to 1 p.m. in Tompkins-McCaw Library, Room 2-010. Aaron Wolen and Tim York, VCU Data Science Lab, will discuss how to use Open Science Framework to share everything from raw data to published manuscripts. 'Wednesdays in the Workshop: Introduction to Game Design'

'Advance Your Research': Citation Management Tools Changing

In 2018, VCU Libraries will retire RefWorks. To get ready for the change, the libraries have planned a group of webinars for spring. "Goodbye RefWorks: Exploring Other Citation Management Tools" will help participants discover new citation options and determine the one to suit their research and documentation needs. This session gives an overview of Mendeley, Zotero and EndNote, and shows how to save RefWorks citations.

Parliamentary Procedure Workshop

ASPiRE and the National Association of Parliamentarians host a three-series workshop about parliamentary procedures. The first workshop will be held in West Grace Street Student Housing-South, Room 1004H. The basic principles of Robert's Rules of Order and processing motions will be covered. Arab Engineers Organization Soccer Tournament

The Arab Engineers Organization hosts a soccer tournament at the Cary Street Gym. The winners will receive $140 and medals with the second place team members earning medals as well. The cost is $35 per team. Registration ends on Wednesday, Jan. 24.

NSA at VCU: Maiti Nepal Fundraiser
Sunday, Feb. 4, 2018 at 2 p.m.
The Nepalese Student Association at VCU hosts a fundraiser in the University Student Commons Theater for the Maiti Nepal organization to donate to and raise awareness for children and women being trafficked in Nepal. The documentary, "The Day My God Died," will be shown. Tickets are $3 and all proceeds will go to Maiti Nepal.

New Location for VCU RamBikes Rentals
VCU RamBikes free rental bikes have a new home on campus. Students, faculty and staff with valid VCU ID can now borrow bikes from the RamBikes shop, 201 N. Belvidere St. Rental hours are 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday. The rental period is 72 hours.

RAM CAMP Student Director: Applications Accepted
Residential Life and Housing seeks enthusiastic and caring Rams to be RAM CAMP student directors. This position helps plan and facilitate RAM CAMP, a week-long leadership experience that introduces first-year students to VCU traditions, campus resources and fellow Rams. In order to qualify for the student director position, applicants must have previously served as both a RAM CAMPER and RAM CAMP leader. Applications are open and close on Thursday, Feb. 1. VCU Recreational Sports: Women's Bootcamp
VCU Recreational Sports offers a women-only version of its new bootcamp class at the Cary Street Gym. Certified personal trainers will teach participants how to utilize conditioning tools like sled drags, bear crawls, rope pulls or farmer carries, to increase strength, power and coordination. This intensive small group training class is for those looking to get serious about conditioning. No prior experience is necessary. Registration ends on Friday, Feb. 2.

Phi Sigma Pi holds its spring 2018 recruitment event from Monday, Jan. 22, through Saturday, Feb. 3. Phi Sigma Pi is a National Honor Fraternity that welcomes students of all genders and backgrounds. Those that are interested and have a GPA of 3.2 with less than 45 credits or 3.0 with 45+ are encouraged to attend an event. VCU Recreational Sports: Adult Swim Lessons
VCU Recreational Sports Aquatics offers adult swim lessons that allow beginner, intermediate and advanced swimmers to build on their skills. Instructors work with swimmers on important techniques and specific skills. Register by Friday, Jan. 26, to participate at either the MCV Campus Recreation and Aquatic Center or the Cary Street Gym Aquatic Center.
