West Broad Street Deck Subscribers to Relocate During Graduations
Upcoming high school graduations will create interruptions to parking. From June 6 to June 8 and June 12 to June 16, all West Broad Street Deck subscribers will relocate to to the West Cary Street Deck, located at 1101 West Cary Street, Jefferson Street Deck, located at 100 South Jefferson Street or Henry Street Decks (East/West), located at 200 & 201 Henry Street.
A dedicated shuttle service will be provided by Parking and Transportation from June 6 to June 8 and June 11 to June 15 to transport subscribers to and from the West Cary Street Deck and Jefferson Street Deck. RamSafe shuttles will run on a continuous loop to and from the West Cary Street Deck, Jefferson Street Deck, Harrison and Franklin Streets, and Franklin and Laurel Streets during the hours of 6:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. In the event a VCU parking subscriber needs transportation between the hours of 6:31 p.m. and 6:29 a.m., they can place a ride request through the RamSafe service by calling 828-SAFE (7233) or visiting ramsafe.vcu.edu.
Reciprocal parking will not be permitted on the West Broad Street Deck from from June 6 to June 8 and June 12 to June 16. MCV Campus subscribers may park on the West Cary Street Deck, Jefferson Street Deck or Henry Street Decks (East/West).

Tuesday Lunchtime Mindfulness Meditation at the ICA

COBE and the Institute for Contemporary Art at VCU present Tuesday Mindfulness Meditation at the ICA. These free midday sessions are guided by highly experienced meditation teachers from the Richmond, community. Advance registration is requested, and can be made at the URL below. VCUarts Department of Kinetic Imaging offers the introductory workshop "Hidden Sounds" at The Anderson, 907 1/2 W. Franklin St. Experiment with contact microphones and Zoom recorders and discover a hidden world of unusual and unnoticed sounds found in everyday objects. 'Bioinformatics 102: Introduction to Genomic Databases'

The Bioinformatics team at the Wright Center for Clinical and Translational Research and VCU Libraries will host a five-day series of workshops focused on introducing attendees to popular genomic databases in the Tompkins-McCaw Library, Computer Lab, Room 2-006. This workshop will cover types of data stored in each database and how to access and navigate them. Each day will consist of a one-hour lecture/database demo followed by a one-hour hands-on session.

Hot Works Training - MCV

Cultural Competency and Language Classes

The Office of Continuing and Professional Education, in partnership with the School of World Studies, will hold cultural competency and language classes for VCU and VCU Health employees and community members. Courses, worth one academic credit, run from late August through early December. Intro to Conversational German II, Intermediate German II, Intro to Conversational Italian II, Intro to Conversational Spanish I, and Intro to Conversational Spanish II are available. Volunteers needed for a Postpartum depression study
You may be able to take part in this study if: You are a female aged 18 to 45 years. You are experiencing Postpartum depression, witch started between the start of the third trimester and four weeks following delivery. Given birth in the last 12 months. Must agree to stop breastfeeding from start of the study treatment to seven days after infusion. You will be compensated for your time and travel.

Participants Are Invited for Study Examining Physical Activity and Sleep Quality
We are seeking individuals between the ages of 18 and 35 years to participate in a study examining the effect of physical activity and sleep quality. This study will be conducted at 500 Academic Centre on VCU’s Monroe Park Campus. Principal Investigator: Ryan Garten, Ph.D., Department of Kinesiology and Health Sciences.

The Grace E. Harris Leadership Institute, Wilder School, is accepting applications for the VCU Leadership Development Program. The goal of this 10-month program is to develop current and emerging leaders who represent the academic and administrative units of the university and the VCU Health System. VCU Alumni seeks nominations of outstanding Graduates of the Last Decade (GOLD) who should be recognized in the 2018 10 Under 10 awards. The 10 Under 10 awards recognize the noteworthy and distinctive achievements made by alumni who earned their first VCU degree within the past 10 years. Alumni will be honored at a private ceremony in November. Consideration is given to the nominee’s contributions in one or more of the following ways: service to the university, service to VCU Alumni, remarkable professional success and outstanding contributions to the community. VCU Recreational Sports Outdoor Adventure Program: Upcoming Kayak, Bike Trips
VCU Recreational Sports Outdoor Adventure Program leads two upcoming trips. The Owls and Cypress Kayak Tour takes place June 9-10, and the Tobacco Heritage Trail Road Bike Ride will be held June 9. The kayak tour will be $75 for students and $85 for faculty/staff/members and the bike ride will be $22 for students and $27 for faculty/staff/members.

Utility Work and Construction on MCV Campus: Reminders
Utility work and construction at and around the former VTCC site will affect traffic patterns around the MCV Campus over the next several months. For the complete schedule, see below. The eastbound lane of Leigh Street, between 9th and 10th streets including the exit ramp from Leigh Street to 10th Street, will be reduced to one lane until late July. There will be increased traffic volume in this area throughout the duration. Street parking will remain closed on 10th Street and bus traffic will continue to be re-routed until November. The City of Richmond Department of Public Utilities continues waterline relocation work on Leigh Street through mid-June. Be aware of possible short-term detours. 11th Street, just north of Clay Street, will be reduced down to one lane intermittently through the end of June. Demolition of the former VTCC building continues. The sidewalks on 10th and 11th will be closed to pedestrians throughout the duration of the demolition and construction. For your safety please follow the detours in this area.
