'Tech Tuesday: Video Production 101'

The VCU Libraries Innovative Media department invites the VCU community to "Tech Tuesdays" at Tompkins-McCaw Library for the Health Sciences, Room 2-010. Participants will learn how to use cameras, lenses, microphones, lights, and backdrops to make a high-quality video with hands-on demonstrations of library technology resources, services and workspaces.

William E. and Miriam S. Blake Lecture in the History of Christianity

'Coffee With a Cop'

VCU Police and Richmond Police Department officers host "Coffee With a Cop" at Greenbriar Cafe & Coffeehouse, 1211 W. Main St. This is an opportunity for members of the VCU community with questions, comments or concerns about safety, on or off campus, to ask questions or present ideas for collaboration on safety initiatives or community outreach projects. Battle of the Rams

The Center for Cultural Experiences hosts the Battle of the Rams in the University Student Commons, Rams Lounge. A four-part competition consists of Heads Up, Jenga with a Twist, Beer Goggles Challenge and Taboo. The Theme of the night will be "sexual health." There will be prizes for first and second place teams. Food will be provided.

VCU Alumni and Community Bike Ride and VCU Recreational Sports Family Fun Fest

VCU Alumni's Riding Rams and VCU Recreational Sports present the 2018 Alumni and Community Bike Ride, starting at Cary Street Gym, 101 S. Linden St. Breakfast begins at 8 a.m. and the ride starts at 9:30 a.m. Cost to ride is $5. Upon conclusion of the ride, enjoy a free family fun event at the Cary Street Gym.

VCU Recreational Sports Rock Climbing Weekend
VCU Recreational Sports hosts a rock climbing weekend, April 14-15. Enjoy a beautiful weekend climbing rocky crags away from the city in one of the most famous climbing areas in North America. OAP trip leaders will teach you basic climbing techniques, equipment usage and belaying techniques in a safe and trusting environment. This rock climbing and camping adventure is designed for climbers of all abilities and will help you gain confidence in your skills. Register by April 10.

VCU Recreational Sports Outdoor Adventure Program Swiftwater Rescue Training
The VCU Recreational Sports Outdoor Adventure Program hosts a Swiftwater Rescue workshop on April 14-15, which teaches recognition and avoidance of common river hazards, execution of self-rescue techniques and rescue techniques for paddlers in distress. Scenarios will provide an opportunity for participants to practice their skills both individually and within a team/group context. Registration ends April 10.

Virginia Capitol Semester Internship Program Priority Application deadline
Applications for the 2019 Virginia Capitol Semester Internship Program hosted by the Wilder School's Office of Student Success are open for students of all majors to apply. The Virginia Capitol Semester Internship Program gives talented college students the opportunity to learn alongside decision-makers in the Virginia General Assembly. The priority application deadline is April 13 and final application deadline is October 1.
