VCU Cabell First Novelist Award Night

Hernán Diaz, winner of the 2018 VCU Cabell First Novelist Award for "In the Distance," reads from his book in Room 303, James Branch Cabell Library, 901 Park Ave. He will later be joined on a panel featuring Chris Fischbach, publisher at Coffee House Press, and Heather Cleary, a translator and writer and one of the founding editors of the digital, bilingual Buenos Aires Review. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. The event will be followed by a public reception, book sale and signing.

Caps, Gowns and Hoods for December Commencement
December Commencement exercises take place at 10 a.m. Dec. 8 in the E.J. Wade Arena at the Stuart C. Siegel Center, 1200 W. Broad St. Students participating in the ceremony must wear caps, gowns and hoods. Academic regalia should be purchased at the Barnes & Noble @ VCU on your respective campus. Regalia will be available for sale through Dec. 8 on the MCV and Monroe Park campuses.
