OCPE Personal and Professional Development Programs

The VCU Office of Continuing and Professional Education offers a variety of on-campus and online learning opportunities for VCU faculty, staff, students, alumni and community members. Host a Fulbright Scholar This Summer

VCU's Global Education Office is seeking volunteers to host two to four international Fulbright Scholars for dinner in their homes or a favorite restaurant on Wednesday, Aug. 15. Fulbright scholars from across the globe will be visiting VCU for a brief orientation program before the United States portion of their Fulbright experience. Transportation is required.

Heart Rate Variability Study

Researchers in VCU's Department of Health Behavior Policy are seeking to learn more about the relationship between anxiety, health and mood. Participants may show any intensity of anxiety from nonsevere to severe. Potential participants in this research study must be between the ages of 18 and 35 and able to safely participate in physical activity, but not currently participating in an exercise program. Those chosen will be compensated for their time.

Student Organization Fair - Department Sign up

University Student Commons and Activities will host the Student Organization Fair (formerly SOVO fair) in the outdoor spaces at the Commons, 907 Floyd Ave., from 3 to 6 p.m. Friday, Aug. 24. The fair is held each fall to encourage the involvement of new and returning students in VCU's 500-plus student organizations and university departments.

Participants Sought for Weight-Loss Program

Researchers at VCU are offering a new behavioral weight-loss program funded by the National Institutes for Health. The REACH Trial is designed specifically for young adults; qualified participants will receive personalized feedback and coaching to meet their goals. Potential participants should be between the ages of 18 and 25 and overweight.
