Not Anymore at VCU: Creating Cultural Change Panel
VCU's Office of the Provost, Office of the Vice President for Health Sciences and Equity and Access Services sponsor "Not Anymore at VCU: Panel on Creating Cultural Change to Prevent Sexual Assault and Harassment" today, 9:30-11:30 a.m., in the Cabell Library Lecture Hall, Room 303.
National, state and local experts will address critical issues in response to the #MeToo movement, #TimesUp and other catalyzing forces. The event is free and open to the university and surrounding communities. Continental breakfast provided.

Film Screening: 'Waiting to Inhale'
12:10 p.m. to 1 p.m.
VCU Libraries and University Student Commons and Activities invite the VCU community to bring their lunch to a film screening and discussion of “Waiting to Inhale” in the Hunton Student Center, TML Learning Center, Room 209. This 2005 documentary covers the heated debate over marijuana and its use as medicine in the United States. A brief discussion will follow the film.

'The Humanities Respond! Literary and Cinematic Depictions of the 2007 Financial Crisis'

The Humanities Research Center presents "The Humanities Respond! Literary and Cinematic Depictions of the 2007 Financial Crisis" In the Cabell Library Lecture Hall, Room 303, as part of their Spring 2018 Speaker Series. Zikaron BaSalon: 'Memories in the Living Room'

The VCU Hubert H. Humphrey Fellowship Program and Congregation Beth Ahabah host "Memories in the Living Room," a conversation with Jay Ipson in celebration of Holocaust Remembrance Day, at 1117 W. 5 v 5 Basketball Game Fundraiser
6 p.m.
Red Cross Club at VCU holds a 5 v 5 basketball game at Cary Street Gym, Court 4. Register as an individual or as a team of five at the contact info below, or at the door ($5 per team member if on a team or $3 per individual). All proceeds will be going to the Red Cross' Sound The Alarm Campaign, which will help install 100,000 smoke alarms in over 100 cities across the nation.
Redistricting in Virginia: A Bipartisan Problem
7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
VCU's Political Science Department hosts "Redistricting in Virginia: A Bipartisan Problem" in the Academic Learning Commons, Room 2104. We will be discussing what is and why do both redistricting and Gerrymandering exist in Virginia. Will also be discussing how can we put an end to Gerrymandering and redraw fair district lines in the Commonwealth. The discussion panel will consist of Delegate Lashrecse Aird, Senator Siobhan Dunnavant, Brian Cannon and professor John Aughenbaugh. Audience questions are welcome.

The Wellness Resource Center and SAVES present "Take Back the Night" in the University Student Commons, Richmond Salons. This empowering event focuses on giving survivors an opportunity to speak out about the violence committed against them. In addition, it provides call to action for survivors and allies to take back the night from perpetrators. Dinner will be provided.

The Wright Center for Clinical and Translational Research and Tompkins-McCaw Library present their next lunch research seminar “The IRB: Regs, Ethics, and Challenges” with Drs. Monika Markowitz, director, Office of Research Integrity and Ethics,&Ron Evans, VCU IRB chair, in the Tompkins-McCaw Library, Room 2-010. Green Unity, The Wildlife Journal Club and The Office of Sustainability host an E-cycling drive in The Compass. All donated personal electronics will go to Tech4Troops, a local nonprofit that gives refurbished electronics to veterans. Household appliances and TVs will not be accepted.

Parking & Transit Impacts for the Monument Ave. 10k Race
On April 14, the EE Lot, West Broad Street Deck and Laurel Street Deck may be inaccessible from 5 a.m. to 5 p.m. Impacted subscribers and MCV Campus reciprocal parkers may utilize the Henry Street Decks. Additionally, the Campus Connector will be unable to service Cabell Library, beginning at 12 p.m. April 12 through 6 p.m. April 14; all other stops will be serviced. During the race, passengers can track the Connector in real time on Transloc, using the “Special Event – Campus Connector” route.

VCU Recreational Sports Outdoor Adventure Program Learn How to Fix a Flat Clinic
The VCU Recreational Sports Outdoor Adventure Program will host a "Learn How to Fix a Flat" Clinic at the Outing Rental Center. This clinic will go over the causes of flat tires and how to prevent them. Registration is available online on the MyRecSports portal. Note: The OAP does not sell bicycle inner tubes; if you are repairing a flat tire on your bike, please bring the appropriate tube for your bike.

'How to create a research poster'
The Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program will host a poster workshop session April 16 at 2 p.m. in Hibbs Hall, Room 327. The workshop will cover some of the technical aspects of poster creation from design to printing and will prepare undergrads to present their work at the Poster Symposium for Undergraduate Research and Creativity taking place on campus April 25, 2018.

VCUDine: Fall 2018 Dining Plan Enrollment Now Open
Dining plan enrollment is now open for the Fall 2018 semester. VCU dining plans range from just five swipes a semester to 300 swipes a semester, with varying amounts of dining dollars on each plan. Dining plans may be utilized at 23 different dining locations across both campuses, including Panda Express, Starbucks, Chick-fil-A and Market 810. Presidential Student Ambassador Program
The President's Office is looking for students to join the Presidential Student Ambassador Program for the 2018-2019 school year. Learn during an event in the President's Office, 910 W. Franklin St. Ambassadors will have the opportunity to learn and understand the role the Office of the President plays within the university and gain leadership experience for future professional careers.
