Education Career Fair

VCU Career Services presents the Education Career Fair in the University Student Commons, Commonwealth Ballrooms. Chili’s at VCU Hosts A-10 Tournament Watch Party

Students, faculty and staff are invited to cheer on the Rams this Thursday, March 8 at noon at Chili’s (355 W. Cary Street) as VCU Men’s Basketball takes on Dayton in round one of the A-10 Tournament. Game-day specials include the $5 black and gold burger and half-off select appetizers. Free VCU spirit giveaways for attendees. Limited free parking available to Chili’s customers across the street in JL lot.

Book Talk: 'The Richmond Crusade for Voters'

The book details a comprehensive history of the Richmond Crusade for Voters, an activist group created to fight voter suppression. A book-signing will follow the talk.

Advance Your Research using PIVOT to find funding sources

VCU Libraries presents Melissa Throckmorton of the Office of Research and Innovation, in an online session designed to help researchers find funding for projects. Learn step-by-step how to use the PIVOT search engine. Participants will write an abstract of your project to determine the type of funding you may need, timing and deadlines, and specific keywords you can use for a targeted search; and set up your funding search and make it work automatically; and filter, sort and analyze the search results.

VCU's third annual Quality in Clinical Research Conference

The Office of Research and Innovation presents the third annual Quality in Clinical Research Conference at the Larrick Student Center, 900 Turpin St. The event will feature keynote sessions by Courtney N. Long, CSO, who will speak on the Bioresearch Monitoring Program (BIMO) process and what the FDA is really looking for during inspections; and Kathy Jenkins, CPO, who will speak about organization and time management for clinical research. Campus Connector and RamSafe Service during Spring Break
During spring break, the Campus Connector will operate on a reduced schedule. From Monday, March 5 to Friday, March 9, the Campus Connector will operate from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. On Saturday, March 10, there will be no Connector service. Normal service will resume on Sunday, March 11. RamSafe will provide cross-campus requests from 5 p.m. to 8 a.m. while the Campus Connector is not in service.

VCU Wellness Block Party: Volunteers Needed
The Student Government Association seeks volunteers for the 11th annual Wellness Block Party on Saturday, March 24, from 1-4 p.m. at Martin Luther King Jr. Middle School, 1000 Mosby St. During the fair, health screenings will be performed and there will be fun activities for the community to raise awareness for healthy choices and to provide health education.

Dining on Campus During Spring Break
Faculty and staff are encouraged to take advantage of various dining location deals happening during spring break, including: ten different lunch options for $7 each at Chili’s; the Smokey Mushroom Bacon Cheeseburger and Smokey Mushroom-topped Baked Potato at Wendy’s; and the Southwest Chicken Salad at Crouton’s. Campus Card Services Upgrade Scheduled, March 6-8
Campus Card Services will be performing a system upgrade to the card application and building access systems March 6-8, 2018. RamBucks, Meal and other SVC plans will not be available for payment. Card production, AdminWeb, RamsLaundry, myVCUCard.com, Attendance Monitor, and mobile reader services will not be available. All building access and schedule changes should be submitted by noon on Monday, March 5. Any requests received after this time will not be processed until Thursday, March 8.
