Early Bird Honor Council Training
1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Student Conduct & Academic Integrity seeks faculty and professional, graduate and undergraduate students to volunteer for the Honor Council, and offers a training in the University Student Commons, Forum Room. Trained members of the Honor Council participate on Decision Boards, Sanction Review Boards or Appeal Boards to determine if an infraction of the VCU Honor System has occurred and to recommend sanctions that may be imposed when a violation has been committed. Those trained now will be eligible to begin serving immediately through the 2018-19 academic year. Attendees will have the chance to enter a raffle for the chance to win a chair massage.

VCUDine: Mediterranean Lunch
11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
VCUDine invites students, faculty and staff to a Mediterranean Lunch at Market 810 in Shafer Court Dining Center. Guests can enjoy a variety of Mediterranean-inspired dishes, including a falafel plate with basmati rice and tzatziki sauce, Mediterranean chicken with scallion couscous and sauteed spinach and a Greek pizza with chicken, feta, spinach and mozzarella. Distracted Driver Safety Giveaways
11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
VCU Police hosts an event in the University Student Commons Plaza for Distracted Driver Awareness Month. VCU Police can answer questions about Virginia laws and will hand out safety swag.
Men of Color Discussion Group
12 p.m. to 1 p.m.
The Office of Multicultural Student Affairs presents the final Men of Color Discussion Group of the semester in the Cabell Library, Room 152. Discuss current events, gather perspectives and make friends. Pizza will be provided.
2018 PACME Celebration
3 p.m. to 5 p.m.
President Michael Rao, Vice President Aashir Nasim and the Division for Inclusive Excellence invite the VCU community to the 2018 Presidential Awards for Community Multicultural Enrichment in the Commonwealth Ballroom, University Student Commons. Join us as we celebrate faculty, staff, administrators and students who have made exemplary contributions to promoting civility, building community, establishing cross-cultural initiatives, and nurturing an inclusively excellent environment. We will also celebrate the legacy of the late Dr. Jan Chlebowski, who served the VCU community for nearly forty years, with the President’s Inclusive Excellence Lifetime Achievement Award. This event is free and open to all.

The Chemistry Department at VCU hosts Dr. Elliot Bernstein of Colorado State University for the lecture is “Photoelectron Spectroscopy: Why Ribose? & NH4NO3 -Release of Stored Energy" in the Academic Learning Commons, Room 2201. The 41st Annual Mary Kapp Lecture is held in honor of Mary E. Kapp, the founding chair of the department.
Women of Color Discussion Group

The Department of Medicinal Chemistry presents "An Enzymology and Inhibition Study of a cAMP-Dependent Protein Kinase Mutant Linked to ACTH-Independent Cushing's Syndrome," as part of its 2018 spring seminar series, in BioTech One, Founders Conference Room. The seminar will feature Nicole Luzi, graduate student, presenting her research seminar.

VCU Opera: 'The Marriage of Figaro'

VCU Opera and the VCU Symphony present Mozart's "The Marriage of Figaro" on April 27 at 7 p.m. and April 29 at 4 p.m. in the W.E. Singleton Center's Sonia Vlahcevic Concert Hall. Tickets are $15 general admission, $10 seniors (60+)/VCU employees, and free for VCU students with ID.

VCU Recreational Sports Aquatics Annual Family Water Safety Fest

VCU Recreational Sports Aquatics will hold the Second Annual Family Water Safety Fest on Saturday, April 28 at the Cary Street Gym Aquatic Center. This free community event is geared towards ages 3 and up, and focuses on safety in and around the water. Bring your swimsuit.
