The VCUarts Department of Interior Design invites the VCU community to a presentation by Kevin Kling on the theme of healing in storytelling in the Grace Street Theater, 934 W. Grace St. Kling was born with a congenital birth defect - a shortened left arm with no wrist or thumb. Fourteen years ago, a devastating motorcycle accident left him with a paralyzed right arm. Kling channels his profound experiences with trauma, disability and loss into stories that bring a message of healing and connection to audiences around the world.

VCU's annual Levis Reading Prize hosts a reading by the 2017 winner, Solmaz Sharif, in the Cabell Library Lecture Hall, Room 303. This study is seeking individuals between the ages of 18 and 35 years who have PTSD or symptoms of PTSD. The purpose of this research study is to examine the effect of PTSD symptoms on blood vessel function at rest and during exercise. Participants will be compensated for their time. This study will be conducted at 500 Academic Centre on VCU’s Monroe Park Campus. Principal Investigator: Ryan Garten, Ph.D., Department of Kinesiology and Health Sciences.
