VCU Recreational Sports Outdoor Adventure Program Backpacking Weekend

The VCU Recreational Sports Outdoor Adventure Program will host a Backpacking Weekend April 28-29. The cost for this trip will be $44 for students and $50 for staff/faculty members. VCU Recreational Sports Aquatics Log Rolling Clinics, to be held at the Cary Street Gym Aquatic Center, are for all ages and skill levels to learn how to log roll. Participants Are Invited For Study Examining Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and Exercise

This study is seeking individuals between the ages of 18 and 35 years who have PTSD or symptoms of PTSD. The purpose of this research study is to examine the effect of PTSD symptoms on blood vessel function at rest and during exercise. Participants will be compensated for their time. This study will be conducted at 500 Academic Centre on VCU’s Monroe Park Campus. Principal Investigator: Ryan Garten, Ph.D., Department of Kinesiology and Health Sciences.

Food for Fines: Donate to RamPantry and VCU Libraries waives late fees and fines April 22-May 12

VCU Libraries will host a food drive at the information desks of the Cabell and Tompkins-McCaw libraries April 22 - May 12 to stock RamPantry @ VCU. In this case, generosity has an added benefit for people who owe fines or certain fees for library materials. For each food item a person donates, VCU Libraries will waive $5 in fines up to a $30 maximum. To qualify, materials must be returned. Fees for damaged and lost items will not be waived.

On April 24, the Campus Connector will be unable to service Cabell Library stop from 7:30 a.m to 4:30 p.m. Additionally this route will be altered. Passengers should use the "Special Event" route on Transloc to track the status of the Connector in real time. On May 1, the Cabell Library stop will close at 12 p.m. On May 16 and May 23, the stop will close from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Passengers should board at Main & Laurel during these closures.
