RamPantry seeks donations of unused, unopened new hygiene products including shampoo, conditioners, razors, soap, feminine products and more for RamPantry's hygiene drive. There will be collection boxes in the University Student Commons from April 23 - May 1.
Mindfulness Monday
12 p.m. to 1 p.m.
Student Conduct and Academic Integrity and the Wellness Resource Center host a short mindfulness session at The Well. Stay after the session to talk to staff about tips and techniques for managing stress as we head into the end of the semester.

'Money Mondays: Drive Away Happy'
4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
TRIO Student Support Services and the Money Spot at VCU present "Money Mondays: Drive Away Happy" in the University Student Commons, Metro Room. During this session, a representative from Virginia Credit Union will provide attendees with information on how to make smart car-buying decisions and tips for negotiating the purchase of a new or used car.
'Software Development is for Everyone'

RamDev: Software Development at VCU hosts a tech talk in the School of Engineering West Hall, Room 104. This accessible computer science talk will include free pizza for attendees.
'Does My Race Matter?'
7 p.m. to 8 p.m.
NAACP at VCU hosts "Does My Race Matter?" a discussion about the effects stress has on African Americans, in the Jackson Ward Room at Larrick Student Center. This event will feature the interim chair of the African American Studies Department, Dr. Utsey, as guest speaker. Red Eye cookies will be provided.

Homeland Security Central Virginia Incident Management Team Briefing and Tour of Command Trailer

The Wilder School and VCU Police host the Central Virginia All Hazards Incident Management Team for a presentation and free public tours of the Command Trailer. The presentation begins at 10 a.m. in the University Student Commons Theater. The Command Trailer will be open in the Commons Plaza from 11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.

21st Annual Graduate Research Symposium

Free Vehicle and Bike Safety Checks
Wednesday, Apr. 25, 2018 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
VCU Police is hosting free vehicle and bike safety checks ahead of the summer travel season in VCU’s HB Lot, corner of Broad and North Harrison streets. Leete Tire and Auto is performing vehicle checks and Ram Bikes will check bicycles. Police officers will also offer child safety seat inspections. VCU Parking & Transportation staff, as well as Formula SAE, will be on site. Coffee and doughnuts will be provided. Please note that this is not an enforcement event, so police will not issue citations.

Photography Club at VCU holds a Photoshop editing workshop at West Grace Street Student Housing - North, Room 1030G/H. For beginner to advanced levels, we will teach masking, camera raw editing, print applications and more techniques to make your pictures prize-worthy. We offer individual time with our officers. The first 15 people to attend will receive Adobe water bottles, pop-sockets and other giveaways.
The Community Forum on Critical Issues in Black Richmond: Incarceration

The Department of African American Studies and the National Jericho Movement present the Community Forum on Critical Issues in Black Richmond in the Academic Learning Commons, Room 1105. This month's topic is incarceration. The discussion will be led by Lillie Branch-Kennedy, founder of Resource Information Help for the Disadvantaged and Disenfranchised (RIHD) and the Central Richmond area chapter leader for the National Council for Incarcerated and Formerly Incarcerated Women and Girls. Final week to complete the Diverse Learning Environments Survey and enter to win prizes
All VCU students are encouraged to take the Diverse Learning Environments Campus Climate Survey, which runs now through April 27. Results will inform the VCU’s plans related to campus diversity initiatives. Students who participate could win one of two grand prizes for a free semester of on-campus parking or one of 100, $10 Starbucks gift cards. VCU Recreational Sports Outdoor Adventure Program Backpacking Weekend
The VCU Recreational Sports Outdoor Adventure Program will host a Backpacking Weekend April 28-29. The cost for this trip will be $44 for students and $50 for staff/faculty members. VCU Recreational Sports Aquatics Log Rolling Clinic
VCU Recreational Sports Aquatics Log Rolling Clinics, to be held at the Cary Street Gym Aquatic Center, are for all ages and skill levels to learn how to log roll. Trained instructors will teach you how to run on a key log. Based on experience level, there will be opportunities to increase the intensity, decrease the stability, and increase the fun by having friendly competitions.

Participants Are Invited For Study Examining Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and Exercise
This study is seeking individuals between the ages of 18 and 35 years who have PTSD or symptoms of PTSD. The purpose of this research study is to examine the effect of PTSD symptoms on blood vessel function at rest and during exercise. Participants will be compensated for their time. This study will be conducted at 500 Academic Centre on VCU’s Monroe Park Campus. Principal Investigator: Ryan Garten, Ph.D., Department of Kinesiology and Health Sciences.
Food for Fines: Donate to RamPantry and VCU Libraries waives late fees and fines April 22-May 12
VCU Libraries will host a food drive at the information desks of the Cabell and Tompkins-McCaw libraries April 22 - May 12 to stock RamPantry @ VCU. In this case, generosity has an added benefit for people who owe fines or certain fees for library materials. For each food item a person donates, VCU Libraries will waive $5 in fines up to a $30 maximum. To qualify, materials must be returned. Fees for damaged and lost items will not be waived.

The President's Office is looking for students to join the Presidential Student Ambassador Program for the 2018-2019 school year. Upcoming Closures to Cabell Library RamRide stop
On April 24, the Campus Connector will be unable to service Cabell Library stop from 7:30 a.m to 4:30 p.m. Additionally this route will be altered. Passengers should use the "Special Event" route on Transloc to track the status of the Connector in real time. On May 1, the Cabell Library stop will close at 12 p.m. On May 16 and May 23, the stop will close from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Passengers should board at Main & Laurel during these closures.
