Campus Learning Center inaugural Reading Day
3 p.m. to 10 p.m.
The Campus Learning Center (CLC) is hosting its inaugural Reading Day event in Hibbs Hall, first floor. We will have walk-in, 15 minute, academic coaching sessions focused on how to study for specific exams, drop-in tutoring for most courses and special Supplemental Instruction (SI) sessions for ACS exams in organic chemistry and general chemistry. Draft Employee Code of Conduct Open Forum

'Southern Nightmare: The hunt for the Southside Strangler' Podcast Talk
7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
The VCU Student Media Center hosts a live sneak preview event for "Southern Nightmare: The Hunt for The South Side Strangler," a new investigative crime podcast hosted by local journalist Richard Foster, in Harris Hall, Room 101. The podcast focuses on the case that happened 30 years ago in Richmond, and marked the first time in American history that DNA evidence was used to catch a murderer. Free and open to VCU community and public.

RamSafe Service during Exams
From April 30 to May 11, RamSafe will run a special fixed route, in addition to its normal service operations, to enhance service for students during the busy final exam period. Departing approximately every 10-15 minutes, two RamSafe shuttles will travel in a loop from Cabell Library to several nearby VCU residence halls, from 6 p.m. to 2 a.m. daily. Normal service will be available for those with destinations outside of the fixed route. Shuttle tracking will be available on the VCU Transloc app.

VCU Recreational Sports Outdoor Adventure Program Trekking in Peru
The VCU Recreational Sports Outdoor Adventure Program will host a trip to northern Peru from May 12-20 to explore the Cordillera Blanca mountain range. The cost will be $495 for students and $650 for faculty/staff, including food, transportation, permits, and equipment. Airfare is not included.

Participants Are Invited for Study Examining Physical Activity and Sleep Quality
We are seeking individuals between the ages of 18 and 35 years to participate in a study examining the effect of physical activity and sleep quality. This study will be conducted at 500 Academic Centre on VCU’s Monroe Park Campus. Principal Investigator: Ryan Garten, Ph.D., Department of Kinesiology and Health Sciences.
Adult Research Volunteers Invited
The Kinesiology and Health Science Department at Virginia Commonwealth University is seeking male participants interested in participating in a research project that will assess the impact of a high active or low active lifestyle and cellular aging on cognitive performance. Participants will be entered for a chance to win an Amazon gift card. To participate, you must be a healthy male adult between 40 and 64 years old with a body mass index (BMI) less than 30.0 (assessed by the research staff). You will be asked to come in for two visits in the morning for an exercise test and two brief cognitive tests. If you are an individual who has a history of cancer in the last ten years, preexisting inflammatory or metabolic diseases (i.e., cardiovascular disease, diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis), or are on medications that may alter inflammation or metabolism, you may not be eligible for this study.
