Today is the final day to complete the Diverse Learning Environments Survey and enter to win prizes
All VCU students are encouraged to take the Diverse Learning Environments Campus Climate Survey, which closes at the end of today. Results will inform the VCU’s plans related to campus diversity initiatives. Students who participate could win one of two grand prizes for a free semester of on-campus parking or one of 100, $10 Starbucks gift cards. Spring 2018 VCU Biostatistics Seminar Series

VCU Biostatistics presents a seminar by University of Minnesota professor Haitao Chu in One Capitol Square, 830 E. Main St., Room 305. The seminar is titled, "A Bayesian Hierarchical Summary Receiver Operating Characteristic Model for Network Meta-Analysis of Diagnostic Tests."

East End Cemetery Community Gathering
5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
The VCU Division of Community Engagement co-sponsors a community gathering showcasing student research on Richmond's historic East End Cemetery at the Robinson Theater, 2903 Q St. Cemetery volunteers will give an update on the cemetery's recovery, while VCU and University of Richmond undergraduates will present their projects from a variety of disciplines and courses. Free pizza will be served.
UHCN Healthcare Summit
6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
United Healthcare Network presents its annual Healthcare Summit in the University Student Commons Forum Room. Healthcare professionals from a variety of fields are going to answer participants' questions. There will also be opportunities for networking, professional headshots and a free catered dinner. Registration required.
Minority Association of Pre-Health Students Spring 2018 Banquet
6:30 p.m.
The Minority Association of Pre-Health Students is hosting its 2018 Spring Banquet at the Molecular Medical Research Building, Room 1009-1011. Students will have the opportunity to network with various health professionals and fellow students.
VCU Opera: 'The Marriage of Figaro'
7 p.m.
VCU Opera and the VCU Symphony present Mozart's "The Marriage of Figaro" on April 27 at 7 p.m. and April 29 at 4 p.m. in the W.E. Singleton Center's Sonia Vlahcevic Concert Hall. Tickets are $15 general admission, $10 seniors (60+)/VCU employees, and free for VCU students with ID.

Early Bird Student Conduct Board Training
9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Student Conduct & Academic Integrity seeks faculty, staff and professional, graduate and undergraduate students to volunteer for the Student Conduct Board, and offers a training in the University Student Commons, Forum Room. Trained members of the SCB participate on Conduct Boards, Sanction Review Boards or Appeal Boards to determine if an infraction of the Student Code of Conduct occurred and to recommend sanctions that may be imposed if a violation has been committed. Those trained now will be able to begin serving immediately through the 2018/19 academic year.

Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers at VCU will be hosting its 2nd annual Dia de Ciencias (Day of Science) in Engineering West Hall, Room 101. First-generation Latinx high school students in the surrounding Richmond area will have an opportunity to explore the VCU campus while engaging in hands-on STEAM activities. This event will be held in English and Spanish.

'Paws for Stress'

University Counseling Services hosts "Paws for Stress" in the University Student Commons, Virginia Rooms A-D. Play with certified therapy dogs from VCU's Center for Human-Animal Interaction as a way to unwind from the semester's stress.
Themed Agora: Twine 2.0

The ALT Lab and Online@VCU are holding a Themed Agora on Twine 2.0 in the Academic Learning Commons, Suite 4102. Faculty are invited to explore the use of the open source tool Twine 2.0 to support case-based learning and active decision-making in the classroom.
Sudan Day

The Sudanese Student Association presents its Sudan Day at the University Student Commons Plaza. The event will showcase various aspects of Sudanese culture through henna, a photo booth and will be capped off with a cultural fashion show featuring Sudanese clothing. Free food will be provided.
'Southern Nightmare: The hunt for the Southside Strangler' Podcast Talk
Wednesday, May 2, 2018 from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
The VCU Student Media Center hosts a live sneak preview event for "Southern Nightmare: The Hunt for The South Side Strangler," a new investigative crime podcast hosted by local journalist Richard Foster, in Harris Hall, Room 101. The podcast focuses on the case that happened 30 years ago in Richmond, and marked the first time in American history that DNA evidence was used to catch a murderer. Free and open to VCU community and public.

VCU Shopping, Dining and Entertainment Survey
As a part of the ONE VCU Master Plan, the university community is invited and encouraged to voice your opinion on shopping, dining and entertainment options available on both the Monroe Park and MCV campuses through an online survey at the URL below. RamSafe Service during Exams
From April 30 to May 11, RamSafe will run a special fixed route, in addition to its normal service operations, to enhance service for students during the busy final exam period. Departing approximately every 10-15 minutes, two RamSafe shuttles will travel in a loop from Cabell Library to several nearby VCU residence halls, from 6 p.m to 2 a.m. daily. Normal service will be available for those with destinations outside of the fixed route. Track the exam week shuttles in real-time on the Transloc app.
