The Office of Multicultural Student Affairs (OMSA) and Rec Sports present, Wellness Fridays, in the OMSA office, University Student Commons, Room 215. Start your weekend off right with a dose of self-care. This week's activity will be massage therapy. Receive a quick free massage and learn some self massage practices you can use in your daily life.
National Scholarship Information Sessions
3 p.m.
The National Scholarship Office hosts two information sessions in the Honors College, Multipurpose Room 1303, 701 W. Grace St., to introduce VCU students to a variety of (inter)national scholarship and fellowship opportunities and review application tips. Sessions will be held at 3 p.m. March 23, and 2 p.m. March 27. These sessions are specifically designed for first- and second-year undergrads, transfer students and grad students who are new to VCU.

3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
VCU Career Services and the Center on Health Disparities Research Training present "So, You Missed the Deadline. Now What?" for students seeking summer research opportunities, volunteer hours, graduate school or a career move but missed deadlines. This event, part of the BEST Series, will discuss preparing for the next opportunity.
Flamenco Soul: Leah Kruszewski and The Latin Ballet
7:30 p.m.
VCU Music's Flamenco Festival VII presents guitarist Leah Kruszewski and The Latin Ballet in the W.E. Singleton Center's Sonia Vlahcevic Concert Hall. Guitarist and VCU music alumna Leah Kruszewski will perform a variety of traditional flamenco music with dancers from the Latin Ballet of Virginia, directed by Ana Ines King. $15 general admission, free for VCU students with ID.

Anointed to Dance of VCU presents a Fifth Anniversary Celebration in the University Student Commons, Virginia Rooms A-D. The free event will include dance teams from all over the state, VCU's own award winning Black Awakening Choir and food from Mama J's.

The VCU community is invited to attend a basic photography workshop sponsored by the Arab Engineers Organization in the Engineering West Hall, Room 103. Bring yourself and your camera.
Flamenco Virtuoso: Ricardo Marlow and Sara Jerez

VCU Music's Flamenco Festival VII presents guitarist Ricardo Marlow and dancer Sara Jerez in the W.E. Singleton Center’s Sonia Vlahcevic Concert Hall. Ricardo Marlo is a virtuoso flamenco guitarist whose percussive style of playing is highly sought after by local flamenco artists. He’ll be joined by dancer Sara Jerez who’s known for her beautiful classical style and flamboyant interpretations of flamenco. $15 general admission, free for VCU students with ID.

Flamenco Legend: Torcuato Zamora

VCU Music's Flamenco Festival VII presents legendary flamenco guitarist Torcuato Zamora in the W.E. Singleton Center’s Sonia Vlahcevic Concert Hall. Zamora was born amidst the rhythms and legends of Granada in Spain and since coming to the United States in the 1960s has devoted himself to presenting the music of his country, flamenco, as well as classical and South American music and his own compositions. $15 general admission, free for VCU students with ID.

The Humanities Research Center presents "Muslim Cool: Race, Religion, and Hip-Hop in the United States" in Cabell Library, Lecture Hall 303, as part of their Spring 2018 Speaker Series. Su'ad Abdul Khabeer (associate professor of American culture and Arab and Muslim American studies, University of Michigan) will lecture. The Powell-Edwards Lecture Series is sponsored by the Powell-Edwards Distinguished Professorship in the Religion and the Arts.

VCU Recreational Sports Outdoor Adventure Program hosts a Wilderness Survival Skills Weekend March 31 to April 1. Learn the basics of wilderness survival and put those new skills into practice during the overnight trip. Topics includes water purification, shelter building, fire starting, off trail navigation and other skills that will help you thrive, not just survive, in the wild. Price includes food, transportation, equipment and instruction. Registration ends on March 27.

United2Heal Seeks Art Submissions
United2Heal at VCU is accepting art submissons to be showcased for a silent auction at our Sixth Annual Fundraising Gala. We are currently looking for qualified candidates to donate their art pieces. All proceeds from our Fundraising Gala will be used to sustain our warehouse space and the supplies we are in need of in order to continue our mission of collecting surplus medical supplies and sending them to areas in need around the world. The deadline for submissions is March 31.
