The VCU community is invited to Stony Point Fashion Park for a morning walk and a brief health talk hosted by doctors and health experts from Massey Cancer Center and VCU Women's Health Center. Walks will be held on the third Saturday of every month, weather permitting. Meet at the entrance by Panera Bread. Each person will walk at their own pace.

The Career Development Collaborative (CDC), one of the career communities supported by the Great Place: HR Redesign, is hosting a workshop in the University Student Commons, Virginia Rooms ABC, on how to help students meet the skill gap that exists between them and their desired career goals. Dr. Maggie Tolan will introduce an exercise she has developed and we will practice using this tool. Light refreshments will be served.

VCU Safety and Risk Management will hold a Safety Expo in the Main Hospital, 2nd Floor Conference Rooms (above the Cafeteria). The expo will include information and best practices about topics such as: VCU Police (LiveSafe app) and Hospital Security; Black Bin information; Oxygen rack segregation; stroke response; TL3 (Text Later Live Longer); fire safety and extinguisher training.

Effective May 15, RamPantry's hours of operation will be Wednesdays and Thursdays from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Students desiring to access the pantry between 1 to 4:30 p.m. will be required to go the information desk in the University Student Commons and ask the staff to contact Felicia Dixon. RamPantry exists to combat food insecurity among VCU students.

Beginning on May 14, the Campus Connector will transition to a reduced summer schedule, operating from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Friday. The summer schedule will run through August 14.

Utility work and construction at and around the former VTCC site will have intermittent impacts on traffic patterns around the MCV Campus over the next several weeks. For details, see the schedule below. On Monday, May 14, demolition will begin on the 10th Street side of the former VTCC building. On Tuesday, May 15, and Wednesday, May 16, Leigh Street, between 9th and 10th streets, will be reduced to one lane and the slip ramp onto 10th Street will be closed. A right turn onto 10th Street at the intersection will still be possible. Two-way traffic will be maintained on 10th Street. All bus traffic has been re-routed off of 10th Street for the duration of this work, which will take approximately five months. During the week of May 21, utility work will require that 11th Street, just north of Clay Street, be reduced down to one lane intermittently for the next 4-6 weeks.

VCU Recreational Sports Fitness offers summer small group training courses, including functional fitness training and bootcamp. Registration for these courses is open and available online through the MyRecSports portal.

Gmail on the web is getting a brand new user interface. Existing features get a new look, while new email features allow you to work faster, safer and smarter with updated security features, new applications of Google's artificial intelligence and more integration with other G Suite apps. VCU users will find the option to switch to the new Gmail user interface in their settings starting May 22.
