Lunchtime Mindfulness Meditation at the ICA
12 p.m. to 1 p.m.
COBE and the Institute for Contemporary Art at VCU present Tuesday Mindfulness Meditation at the ICA, 601 W. Broad St. These free midday sessions are guided by highly-experienced meditation teachers from the Richmond community. Advance registration is suggested, and can be made at the URL below or in person at the ICA. Sessions are held on the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays of each month and open to the public.

The Wright Center for Clinical & Translational Research and Tompkins-McCaw Library present their next lunch research seminar, “Using De-Identified Data for Research,” in the Tompkins-McCaw Library, Room 2-010. Tim Aro, clinical research informatics manager, will discuss how to use de-identified data to assess study feasibility, enhance participant recruitment and answer research questions. Participants can bring a lunch; drinks will be provided.

'Capturing the Sound' at Belle Isle

VCUarts Department of Kinetic Imaging offers the second of three workshops in audio field recording, "Capturing the Sound: James River Walks" at Belle Isle. Learn about environmental soundscape and acoustic ecology and use hydrophones to collect underwater sounds on-location in the James River Park System. Led by Kinetic Imaging adjunct faculty Vaughn Whitney Garland, this workshop is part of KI's summer series "Experiments in Sound". $45. Register at the URL below.

VCU Recreational Sports Outdoor Adventure Program Salt Water and Sun, Beach Shuttle
Saturday, Jun. 23, 2018 at 9 a.m.
VCU Recreational Sports Outdoor Adventure Program leads a two-day beach trip where participants can learn to surf, or work on your skills, June 23-24. Participants will also clean up the shoreline. Price includes food, transportation, gear and guides.

Participants Are Invited for Study Examining Physical Activity and Sleep Quality
We are seeking individuals between the ages of 18 and 35 years to participate in a study examining the effect of physical activity and sleep quality. This study will be conducted at 500 Academic Centre on VCU’s Monroe Park Campus. Principal Investigator: Ryan Garten, Ph.D., Department of Kinesiology and Health Sciences.
