VCU Recreational Sports Outdoor Adventure Program: Trekking in Iceland
Saturday, Jul. 21, 2018 at 9 a.m.
The VCU Recreational Sports Outdoor Adventure Program is heading to Iceland for their annual summer trip, starting in Reykjavík, where participants will have time to take in local culture. The group will then travel to central Iceland for the backpacking leg of the trip. Participants will trek along trails with views of volcanic mountains, massive glaciers and cascading waterfalls. Cost will be $595 for students, $795 for members and $895 for the general public.

'Becoming a Highly Effective Networker'
Wednesday, Jul. 11, 2018 from noon to 1:15 p.m.
The Center for Corporate Education hosts "Becoming a Highly Effective Networker" in Snead Hall, Room B3189. Learn how to craft and use your personal pitch to become a highly effective networker, both inside your organization and beyond. Registration is $25 and includes box lunch and parking.

RamRide not in service on July 4
VCU Parking and Transportation announces that its shuttle service, RamRide, will not be in operation on Wednesday, July 4. This includes service to the remote lots as well as the Campus Connector. Due to this closure, all W Deck, K Deck, Coliseum Deck, RTD Deck, A Lot, I Lot, M Lot and R Lot employee subscribers will be permitted to park in the D Deck or N Deck during this time. RamRide will resume normal service on Thursday, July 5.

Top Hat Student Response System Training
Academic Technologies hosts several Top Hat training sessions for faculty throughout the summer. Faculty can register for these sessions at https://training.vcu.edu/ (enter keyword: Top). A link to join the online sessions will be emailed to the registrants approximately 1 week before the session. Face-to-face sessions will be held during New Faculty Orientation week, August 20-22. VCU Recreational Sports: Reduced Fourth of July Hours
VCU Recreational Sports will be operating on reduced holiday hours for the Fourth of July. Cary Street Gym will be open 9 a.m. - 6 p.m. and the MCV Campus Recreation center will be open from 5:45 a.m. - 6 p.m. Visit the URL below for the full list of revised facility hours.

Fall 2018 Parking Sales
Online parking sales for the 2018 fall semester for the MCV Campus are underway. All housing permits (to include off-campus housing permits) are available for purchase at parking.vcu.edu. The Monroe Park Campus permit sale will take place online at 7 a.m. Thursday, July 26. All Monroe Park Campus commuter permits will go on sale at this time. All students must be registered for classes prior to purchasing parking.

Reporting Serious Incidents to OSHA
All VCU supervisors are required to inform Safety and Risk Management when a serious incident occurs. VCU is required by state law to report serious injuries to the Virginia Occupational Safety and Health Administration. For details, visit srm.vcu.edu and click on "Report a Serious Incident."

VCU Staff Senate Seeks Nominations for Awards for Excellence
VCU's Staff Senate is accepting nominations through Aug. 31 for its First Annual Awards for Excellence.
