Rams in Recovery presents "When Eating Disorders and Drug Addiction (or Substance Use) Collide" in the first-floor conference room of the Jackson Building, 501 N. Second St., at VCU's MOTIVATE Clinic. Adina Silvestri, founder of Life Cycle Counseling, will discuss substance use disorders and the co-occurrence with eating disorders. Of concern is that both disorders have the highest mortality rates of all psychological disorders.

VCU Police/American Red Cross Blood Drive
Monday, Jul. 30, 2018 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The VCU Police Department will hold a blood drive at its headquarters at 224 E. Broad St. The department has set a goal to collect 25 pints of blood this summer for the American Red Cross, which has an emergency need for all blood types. Each donor will have the chance to win two tickets to Kings Dominion. Walk-ins are welcome, or to make an appointment, visit redcrossblood.org and use sponsor code "VCUPD." Visitor parking is available in the headquarters parking lot.

'The Only You: Why Your Personal Story Matters at Work'

The Center for Corporate Education hosts "The Only You: Why Your Personal Story Matters at Work" in Room B3189 of Snead Hall, School of Business, 301 W. Main St. Christina Tinker, founder of Richmond Moms blog, will lead a discussion about the importance of embracing personal stories at work. Participants will learn to use storytelling to build influence and connections based on trust and authenticity in developing a consistent brand. Registration is $25 and includes lunch and parking.

VCU Recreational Sports Outdoor Adventure Program Climbing Clinics
VCU students and members of the community can learn climbing skills and techniques at weekly climbing clinics. The belay clinic caters to beginner climbers. Intermediate and advanced techniques are taught at the climbing technique clinic.
