Higher Education Opportunity Act of 2008 Voter Registration Form Notification
In compliance with the Higher Education Opportunity Act of 2008, VCU is providing its students with a link to the National Mail Voter Registration form, http://www.eac.gov/voter_resources/register_to_vote.aspx. Voters may download the National Mail Voter Registration Form at this link to register to vote or to update registration information. As required by the act, the sole purpose of this notification is to direct students to the form. However, student organizations may hold voter registration drives on campus to offer further guidance and support with this endeavor.

Rams in Recovery to Screen 'All About Communication'
Monday, Aug. 6, 2018 from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
Rams in Recovery will screen the video "All About Communication" from the Center for Motivation and Change in the first-floor conference room of the Jackson Center, 501 N. Second St., in VCU's MOTIVATE Clinic. The video includes specific advice to help family and friends effectively communicate with someone struggling with a substance use disorder.

Lunchtime Mindfulness @ ICA

The College Behavioral and Emotional Health Institute and Institute for Contemporary Art present Lunchtime Mindfulness Meditation @ ICA, at 601 W. Broad St. The session, guided by experienced meditation teachers, is free and open to the public. Doors open at 11:45 a.m. Advance registration is preferred, but walk-ins are welcome.

ICA Cinema Series: The (Re)Birth of a Nation
Wednesday, Aug. 8, 2018 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Composer, multimedia artist and writer Paul D. Miller, aka DJ Spooky, reimagines director D.W. Griffith's infamously racist 1915 silent film to examine how “ … exploitation and political corruption still haunt the world to this day, but in radically different forms.” The program, at the Institute for Contemporary Art, 601 W. Broad St., will be followed by a talk with ICA artist-in-residence and iCubed Fellow Paul Rucker.

VCU Rec Sports Night

VCU Recreational Sports welcomes the class of 2022 by hosting Rec Sports Night. Free food, prizes, games and demonstrations will be available. In preparation, Cary Street Gym will be closed from 3-5 p.m. Linden Street in between Cary and Cumberland streets will be closed from 3-8 p.m.

'Coaching Skills for Leaders and Managers'
Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2018 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
The Center for Corporate Education hosts "Coaching Skills for Leaders and Managers" in Room B3189 of Snead Hall, School of Business, 301 W. Main St. The one-day workshop is designed for managers, supervisors and leaders to strengthen their skills and empower their staff. Participants will learn a structured approach to coaching applicable to common workplace situations.

VCU Recreational Sports Altered Hours
VCU Recreational Sports will hold staff training on Aug. 16-17. All facilities (except MCV Campus Recreation Center) will be closed from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. VCU Recreational Sports will host Recreational Sports Night on Aug. 20. On that day, the Cary Street Gym will be closed from 4-5 p.m. and the Aquatic Center will be closed from 3:30-5 p.m. in preparation for the night's events.
