McEachin To Speak at ICA
As part of VCU's Martin Luther King Celebration Week, U.S. Rep. A. Donald McEachin, D-4th, will discuss fair housing as a right, specifically as it relates to urban communities such as Richmond, at 1 p.m. Jan. 25, at VCU's Institute for Contemporary Art at the Markel Center, 601 W. Teaching for Everyone: An Overview of Universal Design for Learning
Monday, Jan. 28, 2019 from noon to 1 p.m.
VCU’s ALT Lab will offer a seminar on Universal Design for Learning. The educational approach emphasizes instruction and assessment in multiple modalities to provide equal opportunities for all learners. This seminar, in Room 4110, Academic Learning Commons, 1000 Floyd Ave., will offer an overview of UDL, provide examples for implementation in the online, blended or technology enhanced classroom, and share resources for further application of the method.

Minority Association of Pre-Health Students General Body Meeting
Monday, Jan. 28, 2019 at 7 p.m.
VCU's Minority Association of Pre-Health Students will hold its first general body meeting of the spring semester. The meeting, in Room 1112 of Grace and Broad Residence Center, will cover upcoming pre-health volunteer and community service opportunities. This meeting was originally scheduled for Jan. 21, but was moved to Jan. 28.

Remembrance Event for Those Lost to Substance Use

Join the Wellness Resource Center and campus and community members to plan a spring event to remember loved ones lost to substance use, substance-related violence and addiction. The planning event will be at RVA Light, 504 W. Broad St. The remembrance event is scheduled for 4:30-6:30 p.m. March 21 at Monroe Park.

Black Women in STEM General Body Meeting

Stalking and Relationship Breakups

VCU's Wellness Resource Center will host a session about defining the boundaries between a difficult relationship breakup and stalking. The session, in conjunction with January's Stalking Awareness Month, will be held in Virginia Room B, University Student Commons, 907 Floyd Ave. The Well offers statistics, facts and resources concerning stalking at the following URL. Reversing an Opioid Overdose With Naloxone
Monday, Feb. 4, 2019 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.
VCU's Rams in Recovery presents a hands-on training session, “Revive! Reversing an Opioid Overdose With Naloxone.” The event will be in the Alumni Association Board Room, University Student Commons, 907 Floyd Ave. Naloxone has no potential for abuse and will be distributed at no cost to each attendee at the end of the program by the Virginia Department of Health.

Call for Proposals: 2019 VCU Fellowships for Undergraduate Research
VCU Academic Affairs announces funded fellowship opportunities during the summer of 2019 for undergraduates interested in conducting research under the guidance of faculty mentors. In addition to fellowships through the Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program, fellowship awards are also funded by the Center for Clinical and Translational Research, the Division of Community Engagement and the Institute for Inclusion, Inquiry and Innovation.
