Heart Rate Variability Study

Researchers in the Department of Health Behavior Policy at VCU want to learn more about the relationship between anxiety, health and mood by assessing heart rate variability. Participants may show any intensity of anxiety from not present to severe. Those eligible to take part should be between the ages of 18-35 years and able to safely engage in physical activity but not currently taking part in an exercise program. Participants will be compensated for their time.

VCU Rec Sports Outdoor Adventure Program Trips

VCU Recreational Sports Outdoor Adventure Program is offering a cycling trip Aug. 31-Sept. 1 from Harper's Ferry, W.Va., to Washington, D.C., and a camping/canoe trip along the Shenandoah River Sept. 1-3.

Campus Connector Resumes Fall Schedule

The Campus Connector has resumed its fall semester operating schedule of Monday through Friday, 6 a.m. to midnight, and Saturday and Sunday, 8 a.m. to midnight. Track the status of RamRide in real time through the "RamRide" tracker, available on VCU Mobile. Also, all VCU and VCU Health students and employees have unlimited transportation access on the GRTC Pulse and GRTC's regular local and express fixed-route bus service with a valid ID card.

Behavioral Weight Loss Program

Researchers at VCU are offering a new behavioral weight loss program funded by the National Institutes for Health. The REACH Trial is designed for young adults who are overweight and between the ages of 18 and 25. Qualified participants will receive personalized feedback and coaching to meet their goals.

Graduate School Mentorship Program Call for Applications

VCU's Graduate School is accepting applications to the 2018-2019 Graduate School Mentorship Program, which matches undergraduate and graduate students. Graduate student mentor applicants must be at least second-year and in good academic standing. Preference is given to undergraduate student mentee applicants going into their sophomore, junior or senior years and are expected to maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA. Completed applications must be submitted by Aug. 31.
