Painting + Printmaking Visiting Artist Lecture: Raque Ford

VCU's Department of Painting + Printmaking presents a lecture by Raque Ford in Room 301, Fine Arts Building, 1000 W. Broad St. Ford, who received her BFA from Pratt Institute and MFA from Mason Gross School of Arts at Rutgers University, was recently awarded the 2017 The Louis Comfort Tiffany Foundation Biennial Award.

Science, Technology and Society 2018 Speaker Series

VCU’s Science, Technology and Society program hosts “Imagining Animals Through Science,” at the Library of Virginia, 800 E. Broad St. The discussion will examine the relationships between Victorian Americans, science and animals in the midst of such events as slavery, the Civil War and the decline of the ecosystem. Panelists include Henry McGhie, head of collections and curator of zoology at Manchester Museum, University of Manchester; Abraham Gibson, NSF postdoctoral fellow at the Center for Biology and Society at Arizona State University; and VCU faculty member Kathryn Shively Meier, author of "Nature's Civil War." A book signing will follow.

Initial Meetings for New Research Communication Interest Group
