Looking for Low Anxiety, Sedentary Participants for Heart Rate Variability Study

VCU's Department of Health Behavior Policy is studying the relationship between anxiety, health and mood. Participants in this research study must be between the ages of 18-35 years and able to safely participate in physical activity but not currently participating in an exercise program. Participants will be compensated.

Research Participants Invited

VCU's Kinesiology and Health Science Department is seeking male participants to take part in a research project to assess the impact of a high active or low active lifestyle and cellular aging on cognitive performance. Participants must be healthy male adults between 40 and 64 years old with a body mass index less than 30.0 (assessed by the research staff). Two morning exercise tests and two brief cognitive tests will be required. Individuals with a history of cancer in the last 10 years, pre-existing inflammatory or metabolic diseases or are on medications that may alter inflammation or metabolism may not be eligible. Participants will be entered for a chance to win an Amazon gift card.

Pwatem Literature and Art - Submissions Deadline

Pwatem is seeking writing submissions relating to autonomy. Selected submissions will be published in the fall 2018 chapbook, Rabble. Pwatem is also soliciting submissions of fiction, nonfiction, poetry, experimental writing and proposals for performances addressing the theme of radical queer self-love for an Oct. 20 event. Submissions for both Rabble and the radical queer self-love event are due Oct. 2.
