A day-long symposium will examine the legacies of MCV and RPI. VCU will host "Commemorating History: Challenges and Opportunities” to examine VCU's connection to the legacies of the Medical College of Virginia and the Richmond Professional Institute. World AIDS Day Art Showcase

An art show is being staged to raise awareness of AIDS. VCU's Center for Cultural Experiences in Prevention and Black Art Student Empowerment present "World AIDS Day Art Showcase" in Room 1112, Grace and Broad Residence Center 1, 1000 W. Grace St. The competition is designed to bring awareness to the AIDS pandemic and celebrate those who live with the disease. All mediums are accepted. First place will be awarded a $50 cash prize; second place will receive $25.
