The Flipped Classroom: Is It Hype or Can It Help?

VCU Health Town Hall

VCU Health holds a Town Hall in the Hermes A. Kontos Medical Sciences Building Auditorium. An update on Vision by Design will be offered by Marsha Rappley, M.D., CEO of VCU Health System, and Deborah Davis, CEO of VCU Hospitals and Clinics. Successes and other important topics of the current and past year and where VCU Health is going in the coming years will also be discussed.

LGBTQ Safety On- and Off-Campus: Resource Fair and Panel Discussion
4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
A resource fair and panel discussion about LGBTQ safety on- and off-campus will be held in Room 303, James Branch Cabell Library, 901 Park Ave. The discussion will include VCU LGBTQ students, staff and faculty. The resource fair, to be held before and after the panel discussion, will feature groups which support the LGBTQ community. The event is sponsored by the Department of Political Science, Equality VCU, the VCU Police Department and the LGBTQ+ Safety Advisory Committee.

Solidarity Drive: Solidaridad y Apoyo en Richmond
University College's Common Book Program, in partnership with ASPiRE, the Division of Community Engagement, the Division of Inclusive Excellence, the ICA, LEAD, and VCU Globe, are hosting a Solidarity Drive through the end of October, collecting children's items through Sacred Heart Center of Richmond. Requested items include new or gently used stuffed animals, winter coats, bilingual books and canned food. People who sometimes use opioids are being sought to participate in a research study. VCU's Institute for Drug and Alcohol Studies is conducting the study of people who have experience with such substances as vicodin, oxycotin, percocet, oxycodone or heroin (snorted or smoked) to help understand opioid misuse.
