VCU's Graduate School will hold preliminary rounds of its annual Three Minute Thesis Competition in Rooms 2100 and 2104, Monroe Campus Academic Learning Commons, 1000 Floyd Ave. The event is a research communication competition for graduate students who will have three minutes and one slide to convey their research to a lay audience. Latinx Sought for Research Study

Applications, Scholarships for Alternative Spring Break at VCU
Applications for Alternative Spring Break at VCU are being accepted for Spring 2019. During the week of March 2-9, volunteer projects are planned for one international and 10 domestic sites. Two types of scholarships will be offered - a Need-Based Scholarship, and an Art Scholarship to assist with the design for Alternative Spring Break apparel. The winner can get a $100 cash prize. Solidarity Drive: Solidaridad y Apoyo en Richmond
University College's Common Book Program, in partnership with ASPiRE, the Division of Community Engagement, the Division of Inclusive Excellence, the ICA, LEAD, and VCU Globe, are hosting a Solidarity Drive through the end of October, collecting children's items through Sacred Heart Center of Richmond. Requested items include new or gently used stuffed animals, winter coats, bilingual books and canned food. Marked donation boxes are available throughout campus, including in Harris Hall 5116 and at Monroe Park Campus Barnes & Noble.
