Detours In Place for Closures of 10th and Turpin Streets

Starting Oct. 20, street closures will be in effect on the MCV Campus for portions of North 10th and Turpin streets. This three-to-four week closure will shut down all through traffic on 10th Street between East Leigh and Duval streets. N Deck parking and VCU’s Child Development Center drop-off/pick-up will be affected. Detour signs will be posted to direct drivers to alternate routes.

Applications, Scholarships for Alternative Spring Break at VCU

Applications for Alternative Spring Break at VCU are being accepted for Spring 2019. During the week of March 2-9, volunteer projects are planned for one international and 10 domestic sites. Two types of scholarships will be offered - a Need-Based Scholarship, and an Art Scholarship to assist with the design for Alternative Spring Break apparel. The winner can get a $100 cash prize. Participants Sought for Study Examining Estrogen and Blood Vessel Function

VCU's Department of Kinesiology and Health Sciences is seeking individuals between the ages of 18 and 35 years, females and males, to participate in a study examining the effect of estrogen on blood vessel function at rest and during exercise. Men and women between the ages of 18-25 who smoke cigarettes are invited to participate in a research study that requires five, three-hour laboratory visits. Compensation (up to $360) is provided.
