Celebrate International Education Week

In recognition of International Education Week, Nov. 12-16, VCU's Global Education Office hosts a presentation in Room 1030J, West Grace Street Student Housing – North, 830 W. Grace St., by Daoud Nassar, Palestinian farmer and director of the Tent of Nations, an education center located near Bethlehem in the West Bank. Nassar’s farm is surrounded by Israeli settlements and the Palestinian village of Nahalin. With a mission to build bridges of understanding, the Tent of Nations has a sign at the entrance to the farm proclaiming, “We Refuse to Be Enemies.”

Innovation Challenges Design Jam

Reducing Intestinal Fibrosis in Patients With Crohn's Disease

Chao Li, M.D., assistant professor in the Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition, presents "A Novel Approach to Reducing Intestinal Fibrosis in Patients with Crohn`s Disease" in the Founders Conference Room, Virginia BioTechnology Research Park – BioTech One, 800 E. Leigh St. at a presentation hosted by VCU's Office of Research and Innovation. Li’s research uses a green tea extract to provide an approach to reducing endoplasmic reticulum stress, a cellular process that has been linked to intestinal fibrosis.

Sound Bath Meditation at ICA

Instructors from Richmond’s bareSOUL Yoga offer an exploration of the sound and vibrations in artist Julianne Swartz’s installation "Sine Body" at the Institute for Contemporary Art, 601 w. Upcoming Campus Connector and RamSafe Service Changes
Due to street closures in preparation for the Richmond Marathon, there will be no Campus Connector service from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Nov. 10. RamSafe will stop accepting ride requests at 3 a.m. on Nov. 10 and resume service at 5 p.m.

Cabell Library Laptop Kiosks Out of Order
The kiosks in James Branch Cabell Library that dispense loaned laptops are out of order until further notice. Desktop computers on floors 1-4 can be used. Beginning Nov. 26 students can present a VCU ID and check out laptops at the IT Support Center on the lower level of the library, 901 Park Ave. The loan period is 24 hours.
