Provocations Performance: Kenneka Cook at ICA

Richmond native Kenneka Cook combines improvisational vocals with electronic loops. The Institute for Contemporary Art, 601 W. Broad St., presents the Provocations Performance series, developed in response to the work of exhibiting artist Rashid Johnson. The weekly drop-in performances feature local musicians, dancers, DJs and spoken-word artists. A performance will also be held at 3 p.m. Nov. 17, also at the ICA.

Sign-Up Opportunity for National Bone Marrow Registry
11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Sign up to save a life at a bone marrow registry event. The event, hosted by Be the Match on Campus at VCU, will be held in the lobby of the University Student Commons, 907 Floyd Ave. For patients diagnosed with leukemia, lymphoma and other life-threatening diseases, a bone marrow or cord blood transplant may be their best or only hope for a cure.

Implicit Dimensions Exhibition at The Anderson

A reception will be held for the artists participating in Implicit Dimensions. Opera Scenes: Reveling in Relationships

VCUarts Music presents a gala of fully staged/costumed opera scenes. The free event, which explores the twists and turns of dynamic relationships, will be staged at W.E. Singleton Center for the Performing Arts, 922 Park Ave. A performance will also be held at 4 p.m. Nov. 17 at the same location. Scenes from the following operas will be featured: Mozart’s "Don Giovanni," "La Clemenza di Tito" and "Così fan tutte;" Bernstein’s "Candide;" Johann Strauss’ "Die Fledermaus;" Delibes’ "Lakmè;" Donizetti’s "La Favorita" and Gilbert and Sullivan’s "The Mikado."

RamRide Thanksgiving Schedule
RamRide's service schedule will be altered for the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday break. The Campus Connector will operate from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Nov. 21. From Nov. 22-24, the Connector will not be in service. The Connector will resume normal service schedule on Nov. 25. A Lot, I Lot, M Lot and R Lot routes will not be serviced on Nov. 22-23. Impacted subscribers may park in N Deck and Eighth Street Deck on these days.

Call for Applications: Howard Hughes Medical Institute Faculty Fellows Program
Applications are being accepted for the HHMI Faculty Fellows Program. The first cohort of faculty fellows will work with VCU’s Center for Teaching and Learning Excellence, Student Success Transfer Center and Campus Learning Center to support the implementation of the VCU HHMI Inclusive Excellence Program. Sociologists for Women in Society's Winter Donation Drive
VCU's Sociologists for Women in Society is holding a winter donation drive. Through Dec. 3, the group will collect coats, hats, scarves, gloves, menstrual products and nonperishable food items for the homeless. VCU Alumni Holiday Ornament
The VCU Office of Alumni Relations has created the first in a series of holiday ornaments. The ornaments pay tribute to campus landmarks. The inaugural 2018 ornament features the Egyptian Building, the first permanent home of the Medical Department of Hampden-Sydney College (later the Medical College of Virginia). The cost of the ornament is $28 plus shipping (Virginia residents add 4.3 percent sales tax).
