VCU's Department of Music presents Lara St. John, violin, and Matt Herskowitz, piano, as part of the Mary Anne Rennolds Concert Series. The concert will be in the Sonia Vlahcevic Concert Hall of the W.E. Singleton Center for the Performing Arts, 922 Park Ave. General admission tickets are $35. Tickets for those ages 60-plus, VCU employees and VCU Alumni Association members are $32. Tickets for children ages 16 and younger are $25 and free for VCU Music students and VCU Music faculty. Mindful Mondays in Monroe Park: Giving Thanks
Monday, May 13, 2019 from noon to 12:30 p.m.
Join VCU's Wellness Resource Center every Monday at noon while classes are in session for a brief, guided-mindfulness exercise. Bring a blanket or yoga mat and meet by the fountain in Monroe Park. This week's session will focus on a guided imagery practice on giving thanks.

Making Reflection REAL: A Workshop for Faculty and Staff
Thursday, May 16, 2019 from 9 a.m. to noon
VCU REAL and the Division of Community Engagement will host "Making Reflection REAL," a free half-day workshop for faculty/staff. The session will be held in Room 1030J, West Grace Street Student Housing – North (Globe), 830 W. Grace St. Participants will learn the importance of reflection for learning as well as strategies for incorporating reflection into teaching and student mentoring. ICA Facility Rentals Open House

Retiring With the VCU Optional Retirement Plan

Faculty and Staff Open Enrollment for Health Coverage and Flexible Spending Ends May 15
Open enrollment for health coverage and flexible spending plans ends at 5 p.m. May 15. Eligible employees may enroll or make changes to flexible spending accounts and health coverage elections for the plan year beginning July 1. No action is required to maintain current health coverage, but enrollment is required to begin or continue participation in flexible spending. COVA Care and COVA HealthAware participants may qualify for premium rewards by completing or updating a health assessment.

Food for Fines Drive Ends May 12
VCU Libraries' Food for Fines food drive ends May 12. Those who owe fines or fees for library materials may donate a food item at the libraries' information desks. For each food item donated, VCU Libraries will waive $5 in fines up to a $30 maximum. To qualify, materials must be returned and fees for damaged and lost items will not be waived.

Lifeguard Certification Classes
VCU Recreational Sports will hold a lifeguard certification class May 13-17. Registration closes May 12. A lifeguard recertification class will be held May 17-19. Registration closes May 16. Both classes will be held at the Cary Street Gym Aquatic Center, 101 S. Linden St. Register at the following URL.

Outside Group Exercise Classes
Starting May 16, VCU Recreational Sports will offer outside group exercise classes throughout the summer. May classes include yoga (May 16 and 29) and total body conditioning (May 23) and will be held at Monroe Park. Registration (at the following URL) opens 24 hours prior to the class time.

New Program: Wright Center Faculty Mentor Office Hours
VCU's C. Kenneth and Dianne Wright Center for Clinical and Translational Research is offering a new Faculty Mentor Office Hours program to provide early career faculty members with flexible, open access to senior faculty mentors. Faculty mentor office hours are Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 1 to 2 p.m. in Suite 1000B, Richmond Academy of Medicine building, 1200 E.
