Keynote Speakers for MLK Celebration Week
Remarks by the Rev. Tyrone Nelson, pastor of Sixth Mount Zion Baptist Church, will kick off keynote addresses for VCU’s sixth annual Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration Week. Nelson will speak at 6 p.m. Jan. 20 at the Institute for Contemporary Art at the Markel Center, 601 W. Broad St. A 5 p.m. reception will precede the event. Also scheduled to speak during the Jan. 20-26 series of events are American Civil War Museum CEO Christy Coleman, Rep. Donald McEachin and Richmond Public Schools Superintendent Jason Kamras. MLK Day of Service
Monday, Jan. 21, 2019 at 8 a.m.
VCU's Center for Student Leadership and Civic Engagement will host the MLK Day of Service honoring the legacy of the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. Volunteers will travel as a group from the University Student Commons, 907 Floyd Ave., to a restoration project at Richmond's Historic Evergreen Cemetery. Afterward, participants will return to campus for a free lunch and small group reflections.

CLARION Case Competition Team Formation

VCU's Interprofessional Education and Inter Health Professionals Alliance will host the CLARION Competition Case Handout. The event will be held at the Putney House Boardroom, 1010 E. Provocations Performance: Calvin Presents

Cardiac Arrest Research Study
ACCESS is an emergency cardiac arrest research study being conducted at VCU. The study involves the evaluation of two standard-of-care strategies for the treatment of patients who are successfully resuscitated after an out-of-hospital cardiac arrest treated with a defibrillator shock being performed partly under the Department of Health and Human Services regulations allowing an exception to informed consent under emergency research circumstances.
