Artist's Choice: Button Making With Brooke Inman at ICA
Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2018 from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Richmond artist and VCU Painting and Printmaking Department faculty member Brooke Inman will lead a button- and magnet-making session. All materials will be provided for the event, inspired by the current exhibitions "Hedges, Edges, Dirt" and "Provocations: Rashid Johnson" at the Institute for Contemporary Art at the Markel Center, 601 W. Broad St.

Mary and Frances Youth Center Accepting Class Proposals
Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2019 at 8 a.m.
The Discovery program at VCU's Mary and Frances Youth Center is accepting class proposals through Feb. 6 for its summer session. Discovery offers week-long career exploration classes at the center, 120 S. Linden St., focused on STEM, arts and health sciences for middle school students from July 29-Aug. 16. Faculty, staff and students are invited to apply and become instructors. Discovery also has internship opportunities available.

$295k in Business Services Scholarships Available
VCU Business Services is accepting applications for 53 academic scholarships for the 2019-2020 academic year. Scholarships vary from $5,000 to $7,500 and are available to both undergraduate and graduate students. Specialty scholarships are also available for international students and single parents. Cabell Library Extends Hours
James Branch Cabell Library will remain open around the clock until its closing at 8 p.m. Dec. 19. The change is made in response to the new exam schedule, necessitated by recent weather closings. Study areas on all five floors and the information desks at the library, 901 Park Ave., will be open.

Winter Break Hours for VCU Recreational Sports
VCU Recreational Sports will be operating on abbreviated hours during winter break. Cary Street Gym will be closed Dec. 21-Jan. 1. MCV Campus Recreation and Aquatic Center will be closed Dec. 24, 25, 31 and Jan. 1. A list of winter break hours and closures is available at the following URL.

Igniter Crowdfunding Application Open for Submissions
VCU's office of Annual Giving has opened the application process for Spring 2019 crowdfunding projects. The submission window is open through Jan. 2 and applicants will be notified by Jan. 15 of projects that have been chosen. Selected crowdfunding projects will surface in May 2019. RamSafe Service Schedule for Winter Break
RamSafe will operate on its normal schedule of 5 p.m. to 8 a.m. throughout the winter break, with the exception of Dec. 23-25. On these days, RamSafe will operate from 5 p.m to 1 a.m.

Participants Sought for Student Wellness Advisory Council
VCU's Wellness Resource Center is seeking members for its Student Wellness Advisory Council. The council is designed to improve the health and wellness of members of the VCU community. The group advises and serves as an advocate for wellness programs and policies aligning with the needs of VCU students.

Cashier's Office To Close Dec. 20 for Winter Break
VCU's Cashier's Office at 1015 Floyd Ave. will close at noon on Dec. 20 for winter break. All transactions and/or deposits should be received by 11 a.m. for processing. The office will reopen at 8 a.m. on Jan. 2.
