Singer and pianist Cora Harvey Armstrong will perform a selection of gospel classics. The event at the Institute for Contemporary Art at the Markel Center, 601 W. Broad St., is part of Rashid Johnson's "Monument" installation. Armstrong will also perform at the ICA at 4 p.m. Dec. 22.

The Discovery program at VCU's Mary and Frances Youth Center is accepting class proposals through Feb. 6 for its summer session. Discovery offers week-long career exploration classes at the center, 120 S. Linden St., focused on STEM, arts and health sciences for middle school students from July 29-Aug. 16. Faculty, staff and students are invited to apply and become instructors. Discovery also has internship opportunities available.

VCU's Campus Connector will shift to an express route beginning Jan. 2, serving only James Branch Cabell Library, Sanger Hall and J. Sargeant Reynolds RamRide stops. Students and employees are encouraged to use GRTC’s Pulse and No. 5 routes for travel between the Monroe Park and MCV campuses.

VCU Business Services is accepting applications for 53 academic scholarships for the 2019-2020 academic year. Scholarships vary from $5,000 to $7,500 and are available to both undergraduate and graduate students. Specialty scholarships are also available for international students and single parents. Students who live in VCU residence halls are eligible to participate in the VCU Hall Cup. The Hall Cup will take place throughout the school year. Teams may register at any point leading up to the season in which their team plays. Points will be based on participation, sportsmanship, standings at the end of the season and all-league championships won.
