Maximizing Translational Research Training at VCU: Perspectives From an M.D./Ph.D. Trainee

VCU's Office of Research and Innovation presents a seminar, "Because of You: Research You Make Happen," with Audra Iness, M.D.-Ph.D. candidate. The session will be held in the conference room, Virginia BioTechnology Research Park – BioTech One, 800 E. Leigh St. Iness will discuss the transition from bench to bedside, mechanisms for engaging in translational research in VCU, and national and international perspectives on translational research training, highlighting VCU's unique characteristics. Sleep 101 Workshop

VCU Human Resources will host a workshop about the physical and mental benefits of a good night's sleep. The session will be held in the Learning Center, Main Hospital, 1250 E. Provocations Performance: Cora Harvey Armstrong
Friday, Mar. 8, 2019 at 4 p.m.
Gospel singer Cora Harvey Armstrong will perform at the ICA. Drop-in performances, part of Rashid Johnson's "Monument" exhibition, are free and open to the public at the Institute for Contemporary Art at the Markel Center, 601 W. Broad St. A performance will also be given at the same location at 3 p.m. March 9.

'Money Mondays: The App Store'

TRIO Student Support Services and The Money Spot at VCU present "Money Mondays: The App Store." The event will be held in the SGA Senate Room, University Student Commons, 907 Floyd Ave. A representative from Virginia Credit Union will answer questions about how to use technology to successfully manage finances. This event will be repeated on March 25.

Richmond Rhythm A Cappella Competition

RAMifications of VCU will host Richmond Rhythm, an a cappella invitational. The event will be held at the W.E. Singleton Center for the Performing Arts, 922 Park Ave. Among the categories in the competition, which will feature groups from Virginia, are best group, best beatboxer, best soloist, best arrangement and fan favorite.

Chili’s Hosts Watch Parties for Men’s Basketball Away Games
In March, cheer with fellow Rams at the official Men’s Basketball Watch Parties at Chili’s at VCU. Catch the HAVOC on March 2 vs. Richmond (4 p.m.), and March 5 vs. George Mason (7:30 p.m.).
