Author Emerson Brooking will deliver a talk on "The Weaponization of Social Media." The event, in Ballroom B, University Student Commons, 907 Floyd Ave., is part of VCU's Richard T. Robertson School of Media and Culture's speaker series. Brooking is the author of "Like War" and a Washington, D.C.-based expert on the relationship between the internet and conflict. He will talk about how terrorists livestream their attacks, how "Twitter wars" produce real‑world casualties and how viral misinformation alters the result of battles and the fate of nations.
