Bloodborne Pathogens Awareness Training - MCV
Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2019 at 1 p.m.
VCU's Safety and Risk Management will conduct annual Bloodborne Pathogens Awareness training for all facilities management personnel. The session will be held in Room 8-036, Sanger Hall, 1101 E. Marshall St. All facilities management employees who are CPR/First Aid certified are required to attend. Attendance at this training, while primarily for facilities management employees, is open to all VCU employees.

English Faculty Forum: Hanna Pylväinen

Hanna Pylväinen will discuss "White Writer in Sápmi (Lapland): Multi- and Inter-ethnic Representations in the (my) Contemporary Novel." The talk will be given in Room 308 Hibbs Hall, 900 Park Ave. Pylväinen, an assistant professor of fiction at VCU, considers the imaginative limits of perspective in writing a novel set in 1850s Lapland with multiple points-of-view and characters who identify as Sámi, European indigenous people. The talk is hosted by VCU's English Faculty Forum.

VCU Libraries Awards Faculty Stipends for Participation in Survey
VCU Libraries thanks the many faculty who completed the S+R Local Faculty Survey about library and research services conducted in the fall. Barbara A. Roby Scholarship for Students With Disabilities
The Barbara A. Roby Scholarship is offered through the Office of Student Accessibility and Educational Opportunity. A scholarship of up to $2,000 is awarded to a VCU undergraduate with a disability registered with Student Accessibility and Educational Opportunity or Division for Academic Success. Applicants must demonstrate leadership or service to the community, have a GPA of 2.5 or above, be enrolled in a degree-seeking program and demonstrate financial need.
