Bráulio Amado Lecture

Grace St. Amado, from Portugal, is the first speaker in the Objects & Methods Spring 2019 Lecture Series, hosted by the VCUArts Graphic Design Department. He lives in New York City and worked as a designer at Pentagram, NYC. He then joined Bloomberg Businessweek as an art director and later moved to the advertising agency Wieden+Kennedy. Teach a Summer Discovery Class

Share your passion with youth this summer by teaching a Discovery class. Whether it is archaeology, fashion, dance, video games or even veterinary medicine, opportunities are available to spark the interest of youth for their future careers. Each class accepts no more than 16 rising students in grades six to eight. Classes, at the Mary and Frances Youth Center, 120 S. Linden St., last one week and can be taught during the morning, afternoon or for a full day. There is an opportunity for instructors to repeat their classes for multiple weeks of the three-week summer program, hosted by VCU's Division of Community Engagement.

Executive board and committee forms are now available for participation in Stepping Into STEM-H at VCU. The initiative places underprivileged students from Title I Priority high schools in the greater Richmond area on a pathway to STEM-H careers through workshops and mentoring.
