Cary St., is the official watch party location for all VCU men's basketball away games, and on March 15, fans can enjoy free chips and salsa and half off appetizers during the game. 'Updates in Good Clinical Practice Within Research'

"Updates in Good Clinical Practice Within Research" will be discussed at a chapter meeting of the Central Virginia Society of Clinical Research Associates. Pam Dillon, Pharm.D., research liaison for VCU's C. Kenneth and Dianne Wright Center for Clinical and Translational Research, will speak. The event, in Rooms 11-101 and 11-102, James W. and Frances G. McGlothlin Medical Education Center, 1201 E. Marshall St., will include a review of the definition of Good Clinical Practice (GCP), provide updates to GCP guidance and offer advice for implementing GCP in the research setting.

What the Sleep?

'Home Sweet Home' Exhibit at The Anderson

"Home Sweet Home" is this year's undergraduate exhibition at The Anderson, 907 1/2 W. Franklin St. The exhibit is juried by Rebecca Matalon, curator at the Contemporary Arts Museum in Houston. Matalon will offer a lecture at 5 p.m. VCUarts Dean Shawn Brixey will offer remarks and lead an awards ceremony at 5:40 p.m. and a reception will follow at 6 p.m.

Sample the Sweetest of Richmond

VCU's Residence Hall Association presents its annual Sweetest of Richmond competition. Tax Assistance at VCU

VCU's Department of Accounting and Accounting 291 service learning class will provide volunteer income tax filing assistance to all students and employees with incomes under $65,000. The service will be offered in the Computer Lab, Snead Hall, School of Business, 301 W. Main St., for five Saturdays beginning March 16. Assistance is also offered to international and post-doctoral students.

'Homelands of the Plague': Science, Technology, Society Lecture

University of Minnesota professor Susan D. Jones, D.V.M., Ph.D., will lecture as part of the "Imagining Science Through Animals" speaker series, hosted by VCU's Science, Technology and Society Program. The talk will be given in Richmond Salons I-II, University Student Commons, 907 Floyd Ave. Her lecture, "The Homelands of the Plague: Soviet Disease Ecology in Central Asia, 1920s–1950s," will explore the development of a Russian/Soviet school of "disease ecology" at the intersection of human medicine, veterinary medicine and ecological fieldwork.

Social Justice Theme of Annual Brown-Lyons Lecture

'Spit for Science' Seeks Undergraduate Research Assistants for Fall 2019

Summer Programs at Mary and Frances Youth Center
Summer programs at the Mary and Frances Youth Center will offer two different week-long, full-day camps. The camps will be held at the Center, 120 S. Linden St., from June 24-Aug. 9. Lobs and Lessons camps offer tennis, swimming, outdoor adventure games and healthy lifestyle activities for rising first- through ninth-grade students. Discovery, for rising sixth- through eighth-grade students, offers fun, challenging and creative classes with a variety of in-depth experiences in science, technology, engineering, arts and health sciences.
