'When Art Disrupts Religion'

Join VCUDine at Chili's to cheer on the Rams in the A-10 Tournament. Chili's, 355 W. Cary St., is the official watch party location for all VCU men's basketball away games, and on March 15, fans can enjoy free chips and salsa and half off appetizers during the game. Social Justice Theme of Annual Brown-Lyons Lecture

Rabbi Jill Jacobs will deliver the 34th Annual Brown-Lyons Lecture in the Lecture Hall, James Branch Cabell Library, 901 Park Ave. Jacobs, executive director of T’ruah: The Rabbinic Call for Human Rights, will speak about the mission, accomplishments and efforts of her organization, which mobilizes rabbis, cantors and concerned American Jews to protect human rights. She is the author of "Where Justice Dwells: A Hands-On Guide to Doing Social Justice in Your Jewish Community" and "There Shall Be No Needy: Pursuing Social Justice through Jewish Law and Tradition." Limited Submission Opportunity: V Foundation 2019 Translational Research Award
Massey Cancer Center is accepting internal pre-applications for the V Foundation Translational Research Award. The award supports translational research projects within the scope of adult cancer research. The V Foundation will accept one application from VCU. Pre-applications are due March 26. Massey Cancer Center will review pre-applications and choose a nominee to submit a full proposal to the V Foundation.

VRS Hybrid Plan Contribution Deadline Is March 15
March 15 is the election deadline for voluntary contributions to become effective in April for Virginia Retirement System Hybrid Plan participants. Voluntary contributions can be changed once per calendar quarter. Participants can voluntarily contribute up to 4 percent of their creditable salary and receive up to a 2.5 percent employer match.

VCU Rice Rivers Center Undergrad Research Summer Scholarships
The Rice Rivers Center will fund a limited number of undergraduate student research awards for projects mentored by VCU faculty. Successful student applicants will receive a cash stipend of $1,400 to defray expenses of the research project. The Center’s mission is to support research, innovative instruction and community engagement in areas including conservation biology, ecological restoration, water resources and applications of environmental technology. The deadline for proposals is April 13.
