Meet VCU's Authors: Jennifer Rhee

Jennifer Rhee, Ph.D., associate professor of English at VCU, will discuss her latest book, "The Robotic Imaginary: The Human and the Price of Dehumanized Labor." The book traces the provocative and productive connections of contemporary robots in technology, film, art and literature. Preventing the Preschool-to-Prison Pipeline

Bweikia Foster Steen, Ed.D., Associate Professor of Education at George Mason University, will deliver the Ruth Harris Professorship Lecture. The talk, sponsored by VCU's Department of Counseling and Special Education, will be in Room 1165, T. Edward Temple Building, 901 W. Main St. Steen will analyze the role intentional literacy instruction plays on social, emotional and academic development during the early years of school among children of color and children of poverty.

Using Backward Design to Create Cohesive Health Sciences Instruction

ICA Provocations Performance: American Youth Harp Ensemble

The third annual Richmond National Eating Disorder Association Walk will be held at the VCU Commons Plaza, 907 Floyd Ave. The event brings together individuals affected by an eating disorder, their friends, families and support systems to celebrate recovery. Research Opportunity for Teens With ASD and Caregivers
Researchers in VCU’s Department of Psychology are interested in learning more about the mental health of teenagers with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Teens ages 13 to 17 with ASD and their caregivers are invited to participate in a single-research session (two to two-and-a-half hours) on the Monroe Park Campus. Participants will complete a series of surveys and interviews and will take part in some videotaped activities together. Compensation is available.
