VCU's National Scholarship Office will host a brown bag informational session on the Fulbright Scholars Program for graduate students. MAPS Informational Session About Optometry

Grace St. Zachary Levin-Epstein, senior admissions counselor at SUNY State College of Optometry, will give a presentation on the profession, the admissions process and the institute. He will also offer suggestions concerning further studies in health profession programs.

'Intelligent Lives' Film Screening and Discussion

The School of Social Work and VCU's Transforming Accessibility Initiative presents a screening and discussion of the film "Intelligent Lives." The documentary, to be shown in the Rams Lounge, University Student Commons, 907 Floyd Ave., serves as a catalyst to transform the label of intellectual disability from a life sentence of isolation to a life of possibility. "Intelligent Lives" stars three young American adults with intellectual disabilities who challenge perceptions of intelligence.

Can We Talk? A Colorectal Cancer Awareness Celebration

VCU Massey Cancer Center and Hitting Cancer Below the Belt will host an event aimed at raising awareness of colorectal cancer and educating the public about screening measures and reducing the risk of cancer. The event will be held in the Hermes A. Kontos Medical Sciences Building, 1217 E. Marshall St. Activities will include a giant interactive inflatable colon, a live DJ and dance performances, Q&A tables with doctors and other medical experts, nutrition demonstrations, stress reduction classes and group exercise demonstrations.

Workshop: Virtual Event Management System Training for Requesting a Space at VCU

VCU's Event Services office will hold a workshop on reserving spaces for student organizations and departments. The event, in the Alumni Boardroom, University Student Commons, 907 Floyd Ave., will offer instruction on reserving academic spaces, student center spaces and event outdoor spaces, and the use of Virtual EMS (event management system), VCU's online space reservation portal. No RSVP is necessary. The same workshop will also be offered at the same location at 4 p.m. April 11 and April 18.

'Pop Art and the Cold War'

United2Heal Fundraising Gala

United2Heal will hold its seventh annual Fundraising Gala, hosted at Four Points by Sheraton-Richmond. The event will include a live and silent auction with art pieces, event tickets, trip packages and more. United2Heal is a nonprofit humanitarian aid organization that collects surplus medical supplies for shipment to areas in need around the world. All proceeds from the event will go toward sustainment of the group's warehouse space and supplies. Early bird tickets are now on sale.

My Sister's Keeper Feminine Hygiene Drive
In honor of Women's History Month, VCU's Sisters and Stethoscopes and Campus Curlz will be hosting the annual My Sister's Keeper Feminine Hygiene Drive through March 29. Donation drop-off boxes can be found in the lobby of the following residence halls: Edmund F. Ackell (1100 W. Broad St.), Broad and Belvidere Student Apartments (732 W. Broad St.), Warren W. Delta Omega Menstrual Hygiene Product Drive
In conjunction with National Public Health Week, VCU's Delta Omega Honor Society is sponsoring a collection of menstrual hygiene products to benefit displaced and homeless women and girls in the Richmond area. Donations of tampons or pads can be dropped off in the box outside Room 805, One Capitol Square, 830 E. Main St. from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., April 1-5. The donated products will be going to The Period Patch, a Richmond-based nonprofit which will distribute the products to local charities and service organizations.

Exterior Book Bin Now Available for Returns to Cabell Library
James Branch Cabell Library now has an external book return that is always available. The stainless steel bin is located in one of the floor-to-ceiling windows facing Cathedral Place and the lawn. Just south of Starbucks, it is near an accessible ramp and stairs up to the plinth level. The mouth of the return bin is at an accessible height. The sign ("Book Drop") is in large letters above the flap and is also written in Braille tactile signage, as is the "lift to open" on the flap. The book return is for books only. Reserves and other loaned items should be brought inside the building, 901 Park Ave., and returned at the Information Desks.
