VCU's School of Pharmacy and the Wellness Resource Center will offer an interactive presentation on sexual violence, consent and sexual health. ACT and TriNetX: Two Networks Allowing Researchers to Explore and Validate Feasibility for Clinical Studies

Wright Center clinical research informatics manager Tim Aro will provide an overview of the HIPAA-compliant ACT and TriNetX networks. The networks help researchers complete studies, facilitate collaborations and enable discoveries through the creation of real-world evidence. Provocations Performance: Sarmistha Talukdar, Womajich Dialyseiz

Experimental composer and biologist Sarmistha Talukdar will perform at the ICA. Drop-in performances, part of Rashid Johnson's "Monument" exhibition, are free and open to the public at the Institute for Contemporary Art at the Markel Center, 601 W. Broad St. Talukdar combines her scientific research data with classical Indian music and ambient elements. At 3 p.m. March 23, she will be joined by Womajich Dialyseiz, an improv collective made up of women and gender nonconforming people, who will create a performance paying tribute to notable women in experimental music.

English Faculty Forum: 'At First Sight: The Love Stories of Alice Adams and Max Steele'

VCU English hosts a talk by Professor Bryant Mangum about writing and romance. “Nobody writes better about falling in love than Alice Adams,” a reviewer wrote in 1985. In “Learning to Be Happy” she fictionalized her 1958 love affair with writer Max Steele. And he, after reading her story, published his own fictional account in his 1977 story “About Love and Grasshoppers.” Mangum will explore ways in which their stories, both written nearly two decades after the affair, provide insights into a romance that changed both their lives. The talk will be in Room 308, Hibbs Hall, 900 Park Ave.
