VCU Writing Center Offers Saturday Walk-In Hours at Cabell

VCU's Writing Center will offer walk-in hours at James Branch Cabell Library on Saturdays in April. Writing Center consultants will be available in Room 101B, 901 Park Ave., from noon to 4 p.m. April 13, 20 and 27. The Writing Center, which provides peer-based support, is not open on weekends. The Center also offers walk-in hours at Tompkins-McCaw Library for the Health Sciences, 509 N. 12th St., on Tuesdays (3-7 p.m.) and Sundays (10 a.m.-4 p.m.).

Participate in the Racial Socialization and African American Immigrants Study

Are you above 18 years of age and identify as first- (immigrant) or second-generation (born of immigrant parents) originally from a country in Africa or the Caribbean? Consider participation in the Racial Socialization and African American Immigrants Study. The purpose of the study is to increase the knowledge and understanding of the racial socialization practices and perspectives among African and/or Caribbean immigrant families raising black children in the United States. Participants must be 18 years or older and identify as first- or second-generation immigrants from a country in Africa or the Caribbean. All data will be held confidential. Participants may be entered into a drawing for one of five gift cards or receive SONA Research credit for study completion. Register at the following URL.
