2019 PACME Celebration To Be Held April 23
President Michael Rao, Vice President Aashir Nasim and the Division for Inclusive Excellence invite the VCU and VCU Health communities to the 2019 Presidential Awards for Community Multicultural Enrichment. The event, which celebrates faculty, staff, academic and administrative leaders and students who have made exemplary contributions to inclusive excellence at VCU and VCU Health, will be held at 3 p.m. April 23 in the Richmond Salons of the University Student Commons, 907 Floyd Ave. The event is free and open to all. Spit for Science Undergraduate Research Symposium

The Spit for Science Undergraduate Research Team will present preliminary results from the study. The symposium will be in the Alumni Board Room, University Student Commons, 907 Floyd Ave. The university-wide project creates cross-disciplinary opportunities for students to work with researchers in emotional health and substance use.

VCUDine Food Truck Festival
4 p.m. to 9 p.m.
The 2019 VCUDine Food Truck Festival will be held outside Shafer Court Dining Center on Cathedral Place. The festival is a swipe-only event. Dining plan holders can exchange swipes for meals from the following trucks: Bikini Panini, Carytown Burgers and Fries, Firehouse BBQ, OPA Greek, Four Brothers, Curbside Creations and Kona Ice. Taiko (Japanese Drumming) Workshop
Wednesday, Apr. 24, 2019 from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Join members of Heian Daiko, River City Taiko and Sora Daiko in a participatory drum workshop. VCU Ethnomusicologist and Assistant Professor of Focused Inquiry Paul Yoon, who has over 20 years of drumming experience starting with Soh Daiko in New York, will lead the group. The workshop will be co-facilitated by Audrey Short, formerly drumming with Manhattan Taiko and currently Interim Assistant Director of Academic Programming, VCU Globe. The workshop will be held in Room 1030J, West Grace Street Student Housing – North, 830 W. Grace St.

The National Scholarship Office will hold a day of informational sessions in conjunction with Research Week. Scholarships to be discussed include: Goldwater (11 a.m.-noon), Fulbright (12:30-1:30 p.m.), Critical Language Scholarship (2-3 p.m.) and the National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship (3:30-4:30 p.m.). Jeff Wing, director of the NSO at VCU, will lead the first three sessions. The sessions will be in Virgina Rooms C and D, University Student Commons, 907 Floyd Ave.

Panel on Careers in Organ Transplantation

Amendment Film Festival

Caps, Gowns and Hoods for May Commencement
May Commencement will take place at 10 a.m. May 11 at the Greater Richmond Convention Center. Students participating in the ceremony must wear caps, gowns and hoods. Academic regalia is available for purchase at Barnes & Noble @ VCU on the Monroe Park and MCV campuses. If you are unable to visit your campus bookstore, you can purchase your regalia online April 12-30 at http://www.balfour.com/vcu/. Caps and gowns will not be available for purchase at the ceremony.
