Leveraging Team Science to Compete for Grant Funding

ICA Provocations Performance: Sandy Williams IV
Friday, May 31, 2019 at 4 p.m.
Responding to Rashid Johnson's "Monument" installation, interdisciplinary artist Sandy Williams IV will perform a combination of song, text, fashion and video. The performance will be given at the Institute for Contemporary Art at the Markel Center, 601 W. Broad St. A performance will also be given at 3 p.m. June 1.

'Breathe, River' Sound Installation at The Pump House
Friday, May 31, 2019 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
VCUarts Department of Kinetic Imaging presents "Breathe, River," an immersive sound installation by Sara Bouchard (MFA 2019) May 31-June 2 in Richmond's historic Pump House, 1708 Pump House Drive. The work is informed by conversations with aquatic ecologist Paul Bukaveckas, Ph.D., of VCU's Rice Rivers Center and features a musical composition based on water quality data from the James River. Exhibition hours are noon-6 p.m. June 1 and June 2.

Upcoming High School Graduation Impacts
VCU Police and VCU Parking and Transportation remind the VCU community that upcoming high school graduations will create interruptions to parking from June 5-7 and June 11-15. Additionally, traffic within the area surrounding the Siegel Center is expected to be heavier than normal. West Broad Street Deck subscribers will relocate to alternate facilities and a dedicated shuttle service will be provided. Reciprocal parking will be disabled at West Broad Street Deck from June 5-7 and June 11-15.

Sanger Hall and Eighth and Franklin Street Connector Stops To Relocate May 28
Effective May 28, VCU's Connector Express will relocate its temporary Sanger Hall stop (currently located at Children's Hospital of Richmond) to McGuire Hall. Additionally, the Eighth and Franklin Street stop will be relocated to Eighth and Main Streets. Please note, buses will use the Eighth and Main Street stop for passengers traveling in both directions (toward Sanger Hall and Cabell Library). Passengers should pay close attention to identify the direction the bus is traveling on the route prior to boarding.

Nature Day Camp at the Rice Center
VCU Recreational Sports is hosting a nature camp for rising sixth-, seventh- and eighth-grade students. The day camp will be held June 17-21 at the Inger and Walter Rice Center for Environmental Life Sciences, 3800 John Tyler Memorial Highway, Charles City County. Campers will explore the the James River watershed and learn from the VCU Prothonotary Warbler research team and participants in the Virginia Oyster Shell Recycling Program. Registration ends June 12.

The Office of Trademarks and Licensing reminds VCU students, faculty and staff that it is required to work with a licensed vendor when producing any kind of product with the VCU name or logo mark. This includes T-shirts for student organizations, department giveaways for new student orientation - any merchandise that could feature the VCU brand.
