Mindful Mondays in Monroe Park: Giving Thanks
12 p.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Join VCU's Wellness Resource Center every Monday at noon while classes are in session for a brief, guided-mindfulness exercise. Bring a blanket or yoga mat and meet by the fountain in Monroe Park. This week's session will focus on a guided imagery practice on giving thanks.

ONE VCU Clinical Research Teams Meeting
Tuesday, May 14, 2019 from 11 a.m. to 1 a.m.
The purpose of the ONE VCU Clinical Research Teams Meeting is to support monthly communications directly with research teams, including coordinators, regulatory, financial and administrative leadership across the enterprise. The meeting will focus on International Clinical Trials Day, which is recognized on May 20. It will also feature a recording of the keynote presentation from the inaugural Virginia Clinical Research Conference, which was hosted on April 12. The meeting will be held in Hermes A. Kontos Medical Sciences Building, 1217 E. Marshall St.

Ram Pantry Summer BBQ

Recovery Ally Training

ICA Provocations Performance: David Dominique
Friday, May 17, 2019 at 4 p.m.
Composer David Dominique will perform at the Institute for Contemporary Art at the Markel Center, 601 W. Broad St. He will use his voice, electronics and loop pedal to create a soundscape built from whispers, chants, vocal harmony and a selection of the texts and themes that have informed Rashid Johnson's “Monument.” He will also perform at 3 p.m. May 18 at the ICA.

Never Forget Memorial Run
Monday, May 27, 2019 from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
VCU Police in partnership with VFW Post 6364 host the Never Forget Memorial Run, rain or shine. This is a 1.4 mile silent run through VCU to the Virginia War Memorial. Runners are asked to wear white T-shirts for a uniform appearance. This event is free; all runners are welcome. Sign-in begins at 10:30 a.m. in the west parking lot, Stuart C. Siegel Center, 1200 W. Broad St. The opening ceremony will be at 11 a.m. and the run begins at noon. Participants may park for free in the Bowe Street parking deck. Unaccompanied minors must have a parental consent form, which is on the event's Facebook page.

Fundamentals of Computing Specialization
VCU students in all majors can add a major boost to their résumés with the Fundamentals of Computing specialization offered by the College of Engineering's Computer Science Department. Students complete four courses to earn the specialization. The first course, Computers and Programming, will be offered this summer and is a prerequisite for the remaining three. All four courses will be offered in the fall. Sign up through E-services. Search for CMSC 191.
