West Broad Street Deck Subscribers To Relocate During Graduations

Upcoming high school graduations will create interruptions to parking. From June 5-7 and June 11-15, all West Broad Street Deck subscribers will relocate to to the West Cary Street Deck, 1101 W. Cary St.; Jefferson Street Deck, 100 S. Jefferson St.; or Henry Street Decks (East/West), 200 and 201 Henry St. A dedicated shuttle service will be provided by VCU Parking and Transportation from June 5-7 and June 10-14 to transport subscribers to and from the West Cary Street and Jefferson Street decks. Shuttles will run on a continuous loop to and from the West Cary Street Deck, Jefferson Street Deck, Harrison and Franklin Streets, Franklin and Laurel Streets, and Shafer and Franklin Streets from 6:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. In the event a VCU parking subscriber needs transportation between the hours of 6:31 p.m. and 6:29 a.m., a ride request can be placed through the RamSafe service by calling 828-SAFE (7233) or visiting ramsafe.vcu.edu. Reciprocal parking will not be permitted on the West Broad Street Deck from June 5-7 and June 11-15. MCV Campus subscribers may park on the West Cary Street, Jefferson Street or Henry Street (East/West) decks. Traffic around the Monroe Park Campus is expected to be heavier than normal, with the greatest delays 45 minutes before and after each ceremony. VCU Police and VCU Parking and Transportation will work to minimize inconveniences as much as possible; however, passengers should plan to incorporate additional commuting time when traveling throughout the area.

LEAP Onto the James

VCU Recreational Sports is hosting the LEAP (Leadership Environment and Adventure Program) onto the James River camp July 8-11 for high school students. This overnight program, at the Inger and Walter Rice Center for Environmental Life Sciences, 3800 John Tyler Memorial Highway, Charles City County, is for adventurous high school students who are ready to push their leadership skills and develop their outdoor competence. Training Sessions for Upgraded Event Management System

Training sessions have been scheduled for the upgraded Event Management System. Separate workshops will be held for those who use the desktop version to schedule space for others, and workshops on how to use the new Virtual EMS (now called WebApp) to request space. Nature Camp at Rice Rivers Center

VCU Recreational Sports is hosting a nature camp for rising sixth-, seventh- and eighth-grade students. The day camp will be held July 15-19 at the Inger and Walter Rice Center for Environmental Life Sciences, 3800 John Tyler Memorial Highway, Charles City County. Campers will explore the James River watershed and learn from the VCU Prothonotary Warbler research team and participants in the Virginia Oyster Shell Recycling Program. VCU Libraries' Interlibrary Loan and Document Delivery System To Have Brief Outage June 4

VCU Libraries’ online interlibrary loan system, known as “ILLiad,” will be upgraded June 4 and will be briefly unavailable to users. The system will be down starting at 9 a.m. It is estimated it will take two hours for the upgrade. During this time, users will not have access to their ILLiad accounts to submit new requests or to review current ones.

Virtual Immersive Gaming to Optimize Recovery in Low Back Pain

Are you currently experiencing low back pain, between the ages of 18-60 years old and interested in the possibility of nine weeks of nonsurgical experimental treatment? If you answered yes to all three you may qualify for our research. What? New, innovative and fun virtual reality games are designed to help people with chronic back pain move and feel better. Where? All appointments, testing and treatments are conducted at VCU. When? Participation in the study involves 24 one-hour appointments scheduled over a 57-week period. Who?
