NSF Graduate Research Fellowship Information Session

Jeff Wing, director of VCU's National Scholarship Office, will lead an informational session about the NSF Graduate Research Fellowship. SOCRA Informational Sessions for Certified Clinical Research Professional Certification Exam
Monday, Jul. 15, 2019 from 11 a.m. to noon
VCU and the Central Virginia Chapter of the Society of Clinical Research Associates will host the SOCRA Certified Clinical Research Professional certification exam on Oct. 18. The exam application and supporting documents must be submitted to SOCRA no later than Sept. 6. An informational certification exam session is also scheduled for Aug. 16. The informational sessions will be held in Rooms 11-101/102, James W. and Frances G. McGlothlin Medical Education Center, 1201 E. Marshall St.

Foreign Language Sampler

Introduction to Little Data: Statistical Design and Analysis of Experiments

Main St., serves as an introduction to a statistical approach to the design and analysis of experiments in science, engineering and data-driven decision making. VCU Fall 2019 Parking Sales
Fall 2019 parking permit sales for students take place on July 9 and July 25. Housing and 24-hour commuter permits are now available for purchase. On July 9 at 7 a.m., all MCV Campus standard commuter permits will be available for purchase. On July 25 at 7 a.m., all Monroe Park Campus standard commuter permits will be available for purchase. Students must be registered for classes prior to purchasing parking.

Nature Camp at Rice Rivers Center
VCU Recreational Sports is offering a nature camp for rising sixth-, seventh- and eighth-graders. The camp will be held at the Inger and Walter Rice Center for Environmental Life Sciences, 3800 John Tyler Memorial Highway, Charles City County. Registration for the July 15-19 camp ends July 9.

OSHA Serious Incident Reporting Requirement
All VCU supervisors are required to inform Safety and Risk Management whenever a serious incident occurs. VCU is required by state law to report serious injuries to the Virginia Occupational Safety and Health Administration. Smoke and Tobacco-Free Campus Policy Approved
Effective July 1, all tobacco products, including e-cigarettes, are prohibited on university property — including buildings and vehicles — and only allowed in designated outdoor smoking areas. New Adobe Creative Cloud License
VCU recently negotiated a new licensing agreement for Adobe Creative Cloud, which provides access to a full range of creative applications for digital imaging, design, web and video. Academic Technologies is currently working with university departments and schools to transition existing VIP licenses to the VCU Adobe ETLA Portal. Once complete, VCU faculty, staff and student licenses will be available for purchase at a significantly reduced cost.
