Grading for Summer 2019 has begun. Grade sheets are available on faculty eServices. Grades are due by noon Aug. 13; at which time grading will be turned off. Faculty may only access grade sheets for courses to which they have been assigned in the Class Schedule. If you do not see one of your grade sheets, contact your department's course scheduling representative.

New Shuttle Provider To Begin Operating Aug. 1

Effective Aug. 1, RMA Worldwide will provide RamSafe, RamCharter and RamRide shuttle services for the VCU community. An interim fleet of minibuses will be used to service RamRide routes until the permanent fleet arrives. Passengers can track RamRide using the Ride Systems platform, available for download through Google Play and iOs app stores or VCU Mobile. Additionally, riders should flash their current VCU ID card to the RamRide driver upon boarding.

OCPE Personal and Professional Development Programs

VCU's Office of Continuing and Professional Education offers a variety of in-classroom and online learning opportunities. Continuing education, for VCU faculty, staff, students, alumni and community members, is available in craft beer, cultural competency and languages, disability support services, engineering, event planning, mindfulness, paralegal studies, play therapy and test prep for the GMAT, GRE, LSAT, SAT, ACT, Praxis Core and MCAT. Foundations of Biochemistry is also offered.

New Subsidy Program for Participants in Weight Watchers

A new subsidy program has replaced the reimbursement program for Weight Watchers. The Commonwealth of Virginia offers Weight Watchers at discounted pricing to state employees, spouses and adult dependents. The program is only open to employees currently enrolled in state health plans (COVA Care, COVA HealthAware, COVA HDHP and Kaiser Permanente HMO). The subsidy is not open to retirees, or to The Local Choice health plan members.

Host a Fulbright Scholar for Dinner

VCU's Global Education Office is seeking volunteers to host two to four international Fulbright Scholars for dinner on Aug. 14. Fulbright scholars from across the globe will be visiting VCU for a brief orientation program before the U.S. portion of their Fulbright experience. Transportation is required.

Applications Due Aug. 30 for Tina L. Bachas Oncology Nursing Research Award

The Tina L. Bachas Oncology Nursing Research Award, announced by Massey Cancer Center, strives to advance oncology nursing research. Bachas served as Massey's first director of oncology nursing and she and her husband have committed their support in honor of Walter Lawrence Jr., M.D. Bachas worked closely with Lawrence throughout her tenure. This award will support full-scale, nursing-led research and evidence-based projects. This is a general cancer-focused grant. Project funding is up to $20,000 for one year. Latinx Sought for Research Study on Policies

Researchers in VCU's Department of Psychology are interested in learning more about the psychological impact of current policies on individuals who immigrated to the United States at a young age. Participation includes a one-hour confidential interview. Compensation is available.
