VCU Police To Hold Training and Pepper Spray Giveaway
1 p.m.
See VCU Police Academy recruits train with pepper spray. The exercise will involve the use of OC foam, a form of pepper spray containing oleoresin capsicum, the active ingredient in pepper spray. The first 15 in attendance will receive a free hand-held container of pepper spray. The event will be held in the Grace Street Green Space next to the Laurel Street Parking Deck. Academy instructors will spray recruits with foam; the recruits are then required to complete a practical exercise after exposure. Police will answer questions about the training and the use of pepper spray.

An Overview of Kaltura Capture
Thursday, Aug. 1, 2019 from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m.
The College of Health Professions and VCU Learning Systems will present an overview of Kaltura Capture. As of May 2019, Kaltura Capture Space has been replaced by Kaltura Capture. This training session, to be held in Room 2019, College of Health Professions, 1200 E. Broad St., will provide insights into how to use the new personal capture tool, the differences between the tool and what to expect when you visit Kaltura. Register at the following URL.

Grading for Summer 2019 has begun. Grade sheets are available on faculty eServices. Grades are due by noon Aug. 13; at which time grading will be turned off. Faculty may only access grade sheets for courses to which they have been assigned in the Class Schedule. If you do not see one of your grade sheets, contact your department's course scheduling representative.

New Shuttle Provider To Begin Operating Aug. 1
Effective Aug. 1, RMA Worldwide will provide RamSafe, RamCharter and RamRide shuttle services for the VCU community. An interim fleet of minibuses will be used to service RamRide routes until the permanent fleet arrives. Passengers can track RamRide using the Ride Systems platform, available for download through Google Play and iOs app stores or VCU Mobile. Additionally, riders should flash their current VCU ID card to the RamRide driver upon boarding.

Department Registration Opens for VCU Student Organization Fair
University Student Commons and Activities invites campus partners to participate in its Fall Student Organization Fair. The event will be in the University Student Commons, 907 Floyd Ave., and surrounding outdoor spaces. VCU's Student Organization Fair is an interactive event for new and returning students to learn about and connect with registered student organizations and university departments.

VCU Rec Sports To Begin Fall Hours
VCU Recreational Sports facilities will begin Fall 2019 semester hours on Aug. 17. Cary Street Gym and the MCV Campus Recreation Center will open weekdays at 5:45 a.m. Cary Street Gym will close nightly at midnight. A full list of hours is available at the following URL.
